Akron opens up as a 10.5 point underdog. This seems a little much to me, especially after the showing at home against Dayton but we'll see where the line moves over the next 24 hours. And not to steal Zippyfan34's thunder, but HERE is the freebie link to the game webcast.

I went to the link for VCU's schedule and they list the game being televised on ESPN2.

I think the ESPN2 game you're looking at is their matchup with Oklahoma
Sorry about that ........

Without doing my own reasearch....does anyone know how this VCU team looks compared to the team that beat us here last year? I know they still have their stud Maynor....but how are they as a team compared to last year?

Not a bad start for the Zips. Up 9-6 at the first media TO. Linhart has 6 points from almost exactly the same spot, McNees added the other 3. If those two can continue to get in on the scoring I like our chances. VCU looks to be sleepwalking a bit and the refs (MAC refs) are calling fouls about every time someone breathes on someone else (no surprise there).

Valiant effort by the Zips, but it looks like its gonna fall short. Dug themselves too big a hole in the first half. Humpty, McNees, Linhart, Roberts, the McKnights have all had big 2nd halves, but Eric Maynor has been everything he was advertised as and more. Without Maynor the Zips blow VCU out of the gym. Guess that's the difference you get with a talented superstar in his senior year.

I like our young Zips. Crap first half but never gave up. Maynor was obviously the difference. Yet ANOTHER "close but no cigar" but the next 4-1/2 years are going to be a lot of fun. Marquee wins are on the horizon.
