RowdyZip Posted December 16, 2008 Report Posted December 16, 2008 Akron opens up as a 10.5 point underdog. This seems a little much to me, especially after the showing at home against Dayton but we'll see where the line moves over the next 24 hours. And not to steal Zippyfan34's thunder, but HERE is the freebie link to the game webcast. Quote
zippyrifle32 Posted December 17, 2008 Report Posted December 17, 2008 eh... I'll probably be at the JAR watching the women. Quote
Deeustin89 Posted December 17, 2008 Report Posted December 17, 2008 so i see in the article it says they provide live streaming video of the home games. well i didnt see anything saying where you have to go to get the video? I'd like to watch the game online tomorrow if possible. Quote

Deeustin89 Posted December 17, 2008 Report Posted December 17, 2008 ya because i searched college basketball on my cable for the time of the game and it wasn't on there. if anyone can figure out how to watch the game online through the website i'd really appreciate if they posted a link on this thread. thanks in advance! skip-zip Posted December 17, 2008 Report Posted December 17, 2008 Without doing my own reasearch....does anyone know how this VCU team looks compared to the team that beat us here last year? I know they still have their stud Maynor....but how are they as a team compared to last year? Quote
Dave in Green Posted December 17, 2008 Report Posted December 17, 2008 There's a brief comparison of this year's VCU team vs. last year's here:http://zipsnation.org/forums//index.php?showtopic=12037 Quote
bUAkronG Posted December 18, 2008 Report Posted December 18, 2008 Is the video feed really choppy for everyone or is it just my crappy hotel internet? Quote
Quickzips Posted December 18, 2008 Report Posted December 18, 2008 Not a bad start for the Zips. Up 9-6 at the first media TO. Linhart has 6 points from almost exactly the same spot, McNees added the other 3. If those two can continue to get in on the scoring I like our chances. VCU looks to be sleepwalking a bit and the refs (MAC refs) are calling fouls about every time someone breathes on someone else (no surprise there). Quote
RowdyZip Posted December 18, 2008 Author Report Posted December 18, 2008 VCU webcast lists "AU" vs VCU in the scoreboard. Oy.Edit: Also very annoying as the 11 second 1350 delay allows me to choose: crappy vcu announcers or french/dunn. Quote
GoZips88 Posted December 18, 2008 Report Posted December 18, 2008 Is the video feed really choppy for everyone or is it just my crappy hotel internet? V-E-R-Y choppy! Just about ready to bag it and go back to Frenchie and Dunn. Quote
Quickzips Posted December 18, 2008 Report Posted December 18, 2008 Zips falling apart. VCU's pressure is getting to us and our guys are turning it over. Down 9 now. Got to turn this thing around. Rebounding is killing us again. I thought we had that figured out by now. Quote
Deeustin89 Posted December 18, 2008 Report Posted December 18, 2008 nobody besides Linhart can hit a shot. this cold shooting by everybody but one guy thing has got to end sometime. Quote
RowdyZip Posted December 18, 2008 Author Report Posted December 18, 2008 38-22, VCU at the half for those who arent following via webcast. Maybe all the pressing will tire them out defensively? Heh... Quote
Quickzips Posted December 18, 2008 Report Posted December 18, 2008 Zips trying to claw their way back into this thing. Got it down to single digits now. Quote
Quickzips Posted December 18, 2008 Report Posted December 18, 2008 Valiant effort by the Zips, but it looks like its gonna fall short. Dug themselves too big a hole in the first half. Humpty, McNees, Linhart, Roberts, the McKnights have all had big 2nd halves, but Eric Maynor has been everything he was advertised as and more. Without Maynor the Zips blow VCU out of the gym. Guess that's the difference you get with a talented superstar in his senior year. Quote
Redleg2Signal Posted December 18, 2008 Report Posted December 18, 2008 The "Akron University" thing drove me crazy. Quote
Captain Kangaroo Posted December 18, 2008 Report Posted December 18, 2008 I'd pay to see Stephon Curry and Maynor play one-on-one. Quote
GoZips88 Posted December 18, 2008 Report Posted December 18, 2008 I like our young Zips. Crap first half but never gave up. Maynor was obviously the difference. Yet ANOTHER "close but no cigar" but the next 4-1/2 years are going to be a lot of fun. Marquee wins are on the horizon. Quote
unZIPped Posted December 18, 2008 Report Posted December 18, 2008 If you stay on that webcast, you can watch the interview with VCU's coach. Quote
