Captain Kangaroo Posted January 20, 2009 Report Posted January 20, 2009 Heard it through the grapevine. Bank on it. Great news for the Zips!He won't practice, at least contact-wise, this spring. But he's expected to be 100% ready to go for the Fall '09.In disappointing news, DL Cowles Stewart's rehab is much rougher. He may need additional surgery. Quote
Zips fan Posted January 20, 2009 Report Posted January 20, 2009 WOW!! That is great news about Alex Allen. He will be a big help to the backfield next season. Quote
johnnyzip84 Posted January 20, 2009 Report Posted January 20, 2009 Terrific news on AA. I was just wondering this week how Cowles was coming along. I liked what I saw from the young man last year, particularly early in the 'Cuse game before he got hurt. Hopefully he'll get the additional care he needs soon. Thanks for passing this along, Cap'n Quote
skip-zip Posted January 20, 2009 Report Posted January 20, 2009 Excellent News!! I've been waiting for this. He's our only experience back going into next year, and in my opinion, was the best of the backs we had over the last few years. Now....IF only he can stay healthy Quote
ZachTheZip Posted January 20, 2009 Report Posted January 20, 2009 I'm guessing Cowles was able to get a medical RS? Quote

Lee Adams Posted January 21, 2009 Report Posted January 21, 2009 if AA is fully healthy he saves the offense next year...but...coming back from an injury like he had is iffy at best...w/o kennedy and his 100+/game no running backs except AA have any significant time... Quote
johnnyzip84 Posted January 21, 2009 Report Posted January 21, 2009 Yes BZ, AA now has two years left.Lee, I know it's a wild shot in the dark, but Martin and Torrence just might contribute a little in 2009. Quote
RACER Posted January 22, 2009 Report Posted January 22, 2009 it's shame about a.johnson.we could have really used him this year.with the inury this year we really did not see enough of the guy.to bad he graduated. Quote
InTheZone Posted January 27, 2009 Report Posted January 27, 2009 I think a 1-2 punch of Allen and Torrence could be nice for us, provided Allen comes back from his injury in similar form and Torrence develops into the player his natural ability dictates that he should. Quote
