KentZip
I'm sorry, but so far I'm not impressed. Looking at the other MAC schools, ours has to be the worst. If we were ever going to have a great class it should be this year with the new stadium opening. I just can't understand it.If I couldn't out recruit EMU, Toledo and especially Can't. I would hang it up right now! This just makes me ill.According to Rivals (so far) it breaks down like this between Akron and Cant Akron Cant4 stars 0 13 stars 6 52 stars 13 11zero stars 1 5Average 2.22 1.86No idea how you get that we were out recruited by Can't State. Quickzips
So whats the word on this Henderson kid? Seems strange that a 4 star, 313 pound defensive lineman would only have interest from two schools. Does he qualify? Is there some underlying attitude issue? Criminal problems? This kid seems to good to be true.Have to agree though, that if this is true and the kid is as good as advertised we have the makings of a really nice 4-3 defense. Almost impossible for high school blockers to defend one-on-one; he can beat you with brute strength and power or slip you with great foot and hand quickness. Starts with his get-off which is excellent. He anticipates the snap well and fires off the ball before most linemenn can even set their feet and blance. Very strong penetrater at the point of attack and forces the double team as a run supporter. Shuffles well laterally, can bend and make plays down the line of scrimmage with his quickness; he is a very disruptive force. Collapses the pocket with good power and leg drive as a pass-rusher; flushes quick hand technique as well. Our main concern when projecting for the next level is that he has relied on natural strength and quickness to beat most blockers; technique and room for physical development are both marginal. Shoots his hands but lacks the long arms to separate and keep blockers off his body; attacks the gap well, but we have yet to see him consistently disengage blockers by punching inside and pinning back the should while maintaining proper pad level; superior strength and speed on the interior will level off against college linemen. Diagnosing skills need improvement as well. We like his chase and pursuit from the backside but the motor can be inconsistent which is a red flag. With that said, this kid possesses a rare blend of size, strength and athleticism on the defensive line and could develop into a disruptive college defender with some polish and college coaching. On the other hand, this blurb indicates there were other factors:As a senior, Henderson transferred to Harrisburg High. He was forced to sit out his senior year due to injuries he sustained in an automobile accident and he will enroll at Milford Academy in January.Henderson was named Second-Team All-Conference as a junior after notching 70 tackles and eight sacks for Bishop McDevitt. Last night when I checked Scout, they had Akron below #110, like in the bottom 5. It is a crap shoot, monster hands or not.

They're just making all MAC commits 2-stars, not even evaluating talent like they used to except for the top few recruits. I would trust Rivals, or even ESPN's recruiting service to do a more thorough job.
Quickzips
Think I have my answers on Henderson. From Rasors Blog:Chris Henderson — "Non-qualifier out of high school. His opportunity is huge if he gets his grades in line. You watch him on tape and we was a fullback who was fast, athletic. He's paying his dues. The upside to him is tremendous."Henderson's eligibility is not a sure thing. He's such a huge talent that the coaches figured he's worth the risk.At this point I'm not gonna get too excited about Henderson. I'm gonna cross my fingers and hope he gets through his full four years here, but so far our track record isn't exactly stellar with kids like this. I think JD and crew have figured out how to keep academic risks eligible, given the past two classes staying completely intact.
ZachTheZip
Both Scout and Rivals have the complete lists now. Guys that they didn't have any info on or even a profile are now up there, given a generic 1-star (for Scout) or 2-star (for Rivals) thing with their name and HS.We should move past Can't once Rivals updates their standings in the next few hours. Z.I.P.
They're now saying on Gozips.com that Will Fleming (and Joe Pachuca) did not enroll at UA until this current semester, therefore still has five years of eligibility. Can anyone say "Impact True Freshman"?
