johnnyzip84
Coaches for this week's Thursday night show will be Dambrot, Kest and Brookhart!Coach Brookhart:I realize depth on the front is always a concern, but we seem to be really loaded at DL with the addition of Tonga and Henderson. Has there been any thoughts of a scheme change to get more of these guys on the field?Coach Dambrot:Can you provide an update on Ronnie Steward?Coach Kest:You've had some excellent wins at the JAR this year. What do you see as being the biggest obstacle the team is facing in terms of seeing more success on the road?
Dr Z
JD, when you first come to Akron you stated that it was hard to recruit defensive lineman. This year you recruited a four star and three star defensive lineman, how has this task gotten easier for you? With the obvious upgrade on the defensive line has your defensive philosophy shifted?KD, will you do anything this year that you haven't done in the past to prepare your team for the MAC tourney? zipboy
KD - 1. You have mentioned in the past how you would prefer to play full court, ball pressure defense. While the Zips defense may be the best since you have been here, we are still more of a half court team. Do you expect to apply any more pressing, traps, etc at some point in the future?KD - 2. Can you give any updates on ex Zips and how they are doing, Romeo, Dru, Woody, Rob Preston, etc?JD - How is Dale Martin's health?JD - Will you get more involved with play calling next year with Joe Moorehead leaving?JK - How is Amanda Sedlock recovering? Blue & Gold
KD - After traveling to so many basketball venues, what sort of venue would you eventually like to see in Akron. What sort of arena would you consider appropriate and ideal for Akron? Compare it to an existing venue - EMU's Convocation Center? Rhode Island's Ryan Center? Temple's Liacouras Center? Captain Kangaroo
KD - I love the fact that you've openly stated your goals for a long win streak, 20+ wins and a MAC championship as opposed to the typical coach-speak of "we're taking it one game at a time." Why do you feel this young team can handle the pressure of it's coach looking down the road when so many other coaches are afraid to look, or admit they're looking both at the next game and beyond the next game?
