ZachTheZip
http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/bracketology?id=3232345We're a 12-seed going to Spokane to play UCLA. I like the 12-5 matchup, but constantly going to the pacific NW might get old.
Dave in Green
There are lots of good stories when comparing the Zips' 12 seed to others, such as Marquette (12 seed), Xavier (11), etc. My favorite is Gonzaga with an 11 seed. Based on this extremely early estimate, the Zips are very close to being the Gonzaga of the East, for a year at least. Of course, some of that is the result of 4 of this year's Gonzaga players being projected in the top 100 of the NBA draft. But what the heck ..... MDZip
Ridiculous to even make bracketology at this time and it looks like most of the lower leagues reps were just based on the teams that won this year ... however ... it is kind of nice to be considered with the Marquettes, Miami (FL)'s of the college basketball world. Besides I'd love to be a 12 seed. Maybe Joe Lunardi knows about Zeke.
ZachTheZip
Bleacher Report picks Akron to be a 13 seed against ButlerI would hope we do better than a 13-seed again. Unfortunately, a lot of where the MAC champ ends up depends on the performance of the rest of the conference.

And I would truly root against that. We can't be letting Horizon teams get high seeds.

If your plan works we should probably try it out on other conferences as well.

That is like comparing apples to apple sauce. Gonzaga is constantly in the top 20 year in and year out. They have a name that recruits will play for, They go to Maui just about every other year which is a huge recruiting tool. Numerous NBA players. What has Akron done? I love Akron, but we need to start being a little more realistic here. This is not fantasy land, no matter how much we want it to be. If Gonzaga supporters read this stuff they probably would not respond, because it is like the nerdy kid in school who has a patch on one eye of his glasses, who eats his boogers saying that he is going to beat up the football captain. Its a pipe dream.

But as we all know the rule -- if there are two midmajors in the same subregion -- they play each other on day 1!

ZippyTuba11
Latest Bracketology from ESPN has us as a 13-seed playing UConn in Providence, RI.I would love this matchup, mainly because it is probably the closest to home we'd be allowed to play. While I'd love make it to Buffalo, I won't hold my breath.EDIT: We have competition for everybody's fav naming rights:ziptrumpet87's linkWestern Kentucky: Or Gonzaga East. The Hilltoppers own the Sun Belt, nearly beat the Zags in the second round last season, and return four starters. Senior guard A.J. Slaughter looks like your standard real thing. What did we do to deserve that? Oh, maybe he heard about the mysterious Cleveland St. scrimmage.

MDZip
Joe has us in as a 14 seed against Baylor. While its nice to see our name in there, its even nicer to see that Cant is finally out.
