ScoutingOhio is reporting that Cuyahoga Heights QB Zach D'Orazio has verballed to the Zips. He had offers from Air Force Academy and Grand Valley State.Rivals ProfileThat's two of the top 20 QBs in Ohio that have verballed to Akron and the season hasn't even started.
I see Kyle Snyder of Barberton verb'd to OU last week. Any thoughts? Another Hiller (kid from our backyard makes good at another MAC school?) I hate to see that.

Some kids just want to go away for college. Nothing you can do about that.

How many QB's do we need? Rogers, Miller, Nicely, and now 2 more for this class.
Akron has had good luck moving QBs to other positions. Quite often a high school QB is the best athlete on the team, especially at smaller schools.Anyway, I think we'll see more verbals soon, as kids start to realize that the spots are disappearing fast.

You're right. This really seems to be the dawn of a new era in Zips recruiting. I don't ever recall this many early verbals, let alone this many early QUALITY verbals!

I heard a rumor last week Miller might be gone. This could explain two QB's. Or one will play a different position. I remember J.D. saying after CJ and CJac He would not take two QB's in the same class again.

I have a question. If we offer and get a verbal, do we still have to give the kid a scholarship? 6' 1" is not tall enought for a D-1A QB. 13th best QB in Ohio, we can do better than that. We should be getting one of the top three or four QBs in the state yearly or at least every other year. 13 is way down the list....

So you put 100% faith in the OhioVarsity.com rankings, huh? You do that...I'll go with Walt Harris' opinion that maybe this kid is better than #13.

No you don't. You can pull it. However, word gets around when you start doing that and it will affect future recruiting in a negative way.

He is 6' and had only one DI offer and took the only one he got. He is not good enough to be a DI QB. He did run a 4.6 40, however, he has never played outside of QB.I wasn't impressed when I have watched him play, I would venture to say he will never take a snap at QB.

You can go with whatever you want. I'll go with my old saying..."Regardless of what our wives/girlfriends tell us, size matters." 6' 1" is too small for D-1A football.

Thanks for the photo of Doug Flutie doing what he did best in the NFL....standing on the sidelines watching the action.

"Fine"? Thanks for your ringing endorsement. We can do better than "fine".

Listen Grumpy one. :D I don't know how good this guy will be. I was only commenting on his height. There have been tons of good college QB's that have been 6'1" and under.
