RUMPLEMINTZ Posted August 4, 2009 Report Posted August 4, 2009 WHAT A CLOWN SHOW THEY RUN IN THE MARKETING DEPARTMENT......I EXPECTED TO SEE THE HEAD COACH OF THE FOOTBALL TEAM WHEN I WENT TO LAST NIGHT'S GALA EVENT! INSTEAD ALL I GOT WAS A CHICKEN WING! AMAZING THAT THE GUY THAT GOT THE PLACE BUILT WAS NOT THERE!! Quote
Captain Kangaroo Posted August 4, 2009 Report Posted August 4, 2009 If you didn't get your money's worth last evening (free event) you will never be happy. If you expected to meet the coach, you read the wrong press release. This was an event held to allow fans a tour of the new stadium, and to get some goodwill going on between UA and the public. If someone does something nice for you, thank them. If you get jerked around, then you have a right to bitch. Last night's open house is something you should appreciate. Quote
Dr Z Posted August 4, 2009 Report Posted August 4, 2009 The fans finally get a beautiful new stadium on the campus. You get to tour it for free and complain that the coach wasn't there?!? Simply amazing. There are plenty of events that JD attends and is VERY approachable. I thought they did a great job last night. Ask your question that you would have asked JD here, we will answer it for you. If it's just a statement, post it here, we'll tell him about it.Anybody that looked at that stadium last night is sure to attend multiple games this year. It's going to be a great place to watch football. The campus in general looks fantastic! Quote
GP1 Posted August 4, 2009 Report Posted August 4, 2009 The fans finally get a beautiful new stadium on the campus. You get to tour it for free and complain that the coach wasn't there?!? Simply amazing. For years, people around NE Ohio got free everything at UofA events and all they did was complain and expect more for free. There should be nothing amazing about the original post on this board. It's really a sad statement about freeloaders who think the University is dripping in money. I expect more of the same from many after the first season when people realize they actually have to pay for a D-1A football experience in a fantistic stadium.Besides, what's wrong with free chicken wings. I'd be happy to eat some free chicken wings right.Hats off to everyone who went last night and appreciated a nice evening at the University without a steak dinner and free Stoli to wash it down. WinZip Posted August 4, 2009 Report Posted August 4, 2009 I wouldn't say this is the marketing departments fault. Perhaps if you were implying it was JD's fault for not making an appearance then I could make some sense of what you're saying. While I'm sure having the coach talk to fans would make a big impact, there are many MANY other opportunities for this to happen. Maybe he was on vacation, maybe he was recruiting the next Akron star, maybe he just didn't wanna show up and hear someone complain about the chicken wings. Thanks UA, keep it going. The more events like this, the better. Quote
