RACER Posted September 30, 2009 Report Posted September 30, 2009 while i am upset at what's going on this season there is still two reasons the zips may be able to have a decent season.the mac conference is terrible this year, and the mac east is even worse.i would think all of the mac east teams have tobe in the bottom 20 right now.all of this facts make this game with O.U the biggest game in j.d.'s carrer.if we lose this game we will be 1-4,0-2 in the mac.i think at that point it would be almost imposible to win the divison,or become bowleligble.if we win against ou we would be 1-1 in the mac,and 2-3 overall.i would not be suprised if 5-3 wins the maceast.we do not have to be a good team this year to win the mac east.all akron has to do is be the best of the worst.if jd cannot do that then he will not be here next year.if you look at all the teams in the east miami is probably the worstteam in d-1.buffalo got beat by temple.the same temple team that lost to a 1-aa team.ohio probably looks to be the best of the worst so far.that's why a win over then would help so much.if we lose in two weeks though i think the wheels will startfalling off the train.i am not giving up hope until after the ou game though. 72 Roo Posted September 30, 2009 Report Posted September 30, 2009 It's arrogant to say the rest of the MAC East is worse than us. You aren't really watching Zip football. Quote
skip-zip Posted September 30, 2009 Report Posted September 30, 2009 Best of the worst? Isn't that pretty much the situation in the MAC East just about every year recently? Quote
Dr Z Posted September 30, 2009 Report Posted September 30, 2009 Our current situation makes me wonder what the score would have been if we played at Morgan State last week instead of CMU? Quote

Dave in Green Posted September 30, 2009 Report Posted September 30, 2009 I'm sorry to have to report that the CBS Sports Top 120 currently ranks 5 MAC East (*) teams ahead of the Zips, along with 4 from the MAC West:46. Central Michigan74. Western Michigan *80. Bowling Green84. Northern Illinois *87. Ohio94. Toledo *96. Temple *98. Buffalo *101. Can't State *110. Akron117. Ball State*118. Miami (Ohio)119. Eastern Michigan As always, this is a snapshot of someone's best estimate based on season performance to date. The Zips may be better than some or all of the East teams currently ranked ahead of them. But starting with the next game, they're going to have to prove it on the field. We'll see what the final records and final season rankings are in a few months. CBS Sports Poll Quote

But, the Bobkitties are looking pretty decent so far this year. So I look at it this way. IF we can knock them off, maybe that'll be the catalyst to turn this season around. Go Zips!!! Quote
K-Roo Posted September 30, 2009 Report Posted September 30, 2009 How long before we appear here? We can join Miami, BSU, Temple and EMU...Lose to OU and we are 1-4. The 1 win being Morganna State .. a below-avg FCS team....ESPN BOTTOM 10 Quote
