RatherBeAZIP Posted December 15, 2009 Report Posted December 15, 2009 I'm not sure if i understand Can't being ahead of us on any poll. They played tough at times against a few big opponents but they still lost. I guess it will all change in the coming weeks with all the home games for the Zips. I'm sure we will take care of business. Quote

Interestingly our final 2009 football rating of 134 doesn't look half bad (just don't limit your comparison to FBS schools only) compared to the current bball rating of 178. Quote
ZachTheZip Posted December 15, 2009 Report Posted December 15, 2009 Sagarin's ratings (and all computer ratings, for that matter) are pretty useless until the second half of the season. Sagarin admits this. They're useful once enough teams have played each other to make a comparison. Once conference play begins you'll see the ratings fall more in line with observations. Quote

Those are fighting words in my book you traitor? Quote
Sergeant Zip Posted December 22, 2009 Report Posted December 22, 2009 Zips move up to 12. It must be St. F (PA)... Quote

Second best in NEOhio is absolutely nothing to brag about. Heck I'm sure Can't even isn't bragging about being "best in NEOhio" when that simply means they rank 108 in the country. All this really shows is the absolute abysml level of play in the MAC. Quote

I said we were rated as the second best team in all of Northern Ohio, and I could have said we are the 2nd best in the entire Northern half of the state of Ohio. Quote

My point is the same. These are pretty pathetic numbers. If we were up in the range of Dayton, Xavier and Cincy they might be something worth keeping an eye on. As it stands they are just an indication of how bad our scheduling is and how much this conference absolutely blows. Quote
