RUMPLEMINTZ Posted December 2, 2009 Report Posted December 2, 2009 BRIAN WAGNER 2nd Team All-Mac........are you kidding me? The biggest rip off in the history of Zips Football....Let's see what kind of AD we have now!!!!! Hey Tom! How about another YOUTUBE VIDEO crying BS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Wagner not getting 1st team is just wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Quote
MDZip Posted December 3, 2009 Report Posted December 3, 2009 I think Brian deserved better as well, but with a chance to be a four year All-MAC is still very impressive. In that same vein, Almondo Sewell just tied Chris Kemme as the only Akron football three time all-MAC performer and has a chance to make it four next year. Really impressive. Quote
Dr Z Posted December 3, 2009 Report Posted December 3, 2009 Brian played great and will have plenty of time to win individual awards in the next three seasons. Settle down Rump, it's only an award, not a game. Get upset at losing a game, not an individual award. Quote
ZIPFB#1 Posted December 4, 2009 Report Posted December 4, 2009 How can a player that is 5th in the nation in tackles and 1st in the MAC in tackles get second team? Can anyone explain? Brian Wagner was robbed! Quote
cornbread Posted December 4, 2009 Report Posted December 4, 2009 How can a player that is 5th in the nation in tackles and 1st in the MAC in tackles get second team? Can anyone explain? Brian Wagner was robbed! In choosing their most valuable players, the MAC seems to have the position that overall team record is a better indicator of a player's contribution than the stats that actually measure their accomplishments from play-to-play.It is not a perfect system. Captain Kangaroo Posted December 4, 2009 Report Posted December 4, 2009 How can a player that is 5th in the nation in tackles and 1st in the MAC in tackles get second team? Can anyone explain? Brian Wagner was robbed!Freshmen on teams with bad records typically don't get too many accolades. I think 2nd team is an OUTSTANING accomplishment. I look forward to his 3-year run on the All MAC 1st team defense from here on out. Quote
ZIPFB#1 Posted December 4, 2009 Report Posted December 4, 2009 Still feel he was robbed. Maybe he should go elsewhere where his talent could get the rightful accolades it deserves! Quote

You shouldn't fault Akron. You sound like a crazy football mom...I could be wrong, but I believe ZIPFB#1 was saying that in jest.I agree with the Cap'n on this. I don't think many MAC coaches had their eyes and ears on Akron over the last half of the season. It's actually pretty surprising (to me) that UA landed so many players on these teams. I think it's some evidence that there IS talent on board here (subject of another thread). Quote
ZIPFB#1 Posted December 4, 2009 Report Posted December 4, 2009 All in jest...wouldn't want Wagner to play any where else. Maybe next year the team will get the accolades they all deserve! Quote
