MDZip
Great story on Hixon, talk about a great you're proud to come from the same place you did. I saw the return on TV as I happened to be stopped to get something to eat on a long drive home. Felt good to see and there was no grandstanding by him after it was over. He is a very classy individual.
UAZipster0305
So glad to see him doing well with a team that is not the Browns. How is Blackburn doing with the Giants this season?
zip37
I don't think there is a classier faamily than the Hixons.
Quickzips
The one endearing image from the Brookhardt era for me will always be Hixon climbing off his back after throwing up god knows how many times on the sideline from the cramps he was getting, dragging himself back in the game and diving for that ball in the endzone with the clock winding down to win us the MAC Championship game. I'm proud to have a guy like him in the NFL from Akron. Just the way he was able to bounce back from the whole Kevin Everett situation and make it into a positive both on and off the field is testimony enough to the kind of player he is. Deserves all the success in the world.
Dr Z
Hixon is Peter Kings special teams player of the week. Another MAC player is offensive player of the week.Domenik Hixon, PR/WR, New York Giants.Nursing a 24-17 lead with six minutes left, the Giants' punt-return team lined up for a boomer by Dallas' Mat McBriar. Fielding it at his 21, Hixon weaved and deked for a few yards, then found an alley down the right side. He got two good blocks and sprinted into the end zone. Ballgame. People think he just made an amazing catch, what they don't realize is exactly like you said, 30 seconds before he made that catch, he was pukeing his brains out on the sideline!
