Darn. I was ready to rip into Wistrcil for not taking advantage of this opportunity to drive tons of people (especially ND fans and national media) to the Zips website. At least you're good at marketing, Tom.

Two interesting things. One, he said he was going to talk to current staff? Are there coaches like Vince Okruch (he was a bcs coordinator for some successful programs and has done a good job with our undersized linebackers) that he would want to keep on board, or others? Also, why does the media suck in general? Can somebody ask a specific question about Powlus, or Patrick Nicely as the QB and position he will be building this team around with its current cast. I like the ND offense, if he can find the offensive lineman to be tough and let us run 2 backs, a TE, etc.

Not many questions from the media...
It's because the media tries their damnedest to ignore us. Gaffney was there from the BJ. Good job. MAC Report Online had a rep. And Frenchy asked a Q. Anyone from the Plain Dealer? Who knows. Anyone from the Canton Repository? Probably not. And this is what gets me riled up - anyone from Channel 5? Channel 3? Channel 8? Of course not. Rat bastards. Screw Cleveland. Cleveland can burn to the ground, for all I care.

Elton was there. They said at the end that they were moving Rob to one of the TV Booths for individual interviews. These guys are probably sitting on their best question in the hopes that their article tomorrow will be slightly different than everyone else's.That's my guess.Go Zips!

I know the ZNO opinion is split on recruiting Ohio. But I'm all for it. I was glad to hear him say that he wanted to make Ohio & western PA our recruiting base. If anyone can do it, it's probably Rob. If we can split with Cincy over the recruits passed over by OSU, we'll be on our way to dominating the MAC.

I don't think Cincinnati has to worry about getting the Suckeyes leftovers right now. They'll do just fine. But yes, I would guess that we would dominate the MAC if we put together recruiting classes similar that were similar to those of the #3 team in the country. This subject of Ohio Recruiting has seemed to come up every time we've hired a new coach during our D-1A era. And unless I've missed something over the last 30 years, don't we already get a good amount of our players from Ohio and W. PA? Why does it seem like some new coup when someone says that they are going to recruit that area? But personally, I don't care where our players come from. If we have opportunities to get players that will help us win, and they are from Florida, Oklahoma, California, etc.......I couldn't care less.

It's always some old dude booster to ask that question every time (Lee & JD) at those press conferences. I wanna be there when the answer is something different. How else would a new coach answer...."Yeah I've recruited all over this country and to tell you guys the truth, the talent in this area really isn't that good."

GP1 won't be happy. He's talking about "building a program".
You're right. I hate the "building" nonsense. You don't build a program....From day one, you improve a program. I expect this team, next year, to be improved over last year. Building implies..."Give us a couple of years". No thanks.

Just got a chance to watch the press conference. Best Tom comment "I got a lot of emails, I even got a youtube video I made a youtube video"Most interesting Rob comment "This is Ohio, we are going to run the ball, we will run a multiple set offense similar to what ND ran"Oddest question...Steve French "Have you ever been to the Rubber Bowl?"
