MDZip Posted February 10, 2010 Report Posted February 10, 2010 An almost 5 minutes stretch (18:17 to 13:35) where we didn't score a single point and yet we're still in it. Amazing. And this is the MAC West leader vs. almost the MAC East leader? No wonder the word Mactastic gets tossed around a lot. Quote
Quickzips Posted February 10, 2010 Report Posted February 10, 2010 Tied up at 52. Central trying to give the Zips this game. Do our guys want it? Quote

Quickzips Posted February 10, 2010 Report Posted February 10, 2010 Unbelievable, Zips have no business being anywhere near this game and yet they now lead by 4. Quote

Quickzips Posted February 10, 2010 Report Posted February 10, 2010 Somebody call the Mt. Pleasent Police Department. Zips just robbed the Chippewas. Quote

The Hip Zip Posted February 10, 2010 Report Posted February 10, 2010 Have to wonder if this team has just lost some confidence in KD.Thank God! The Zips regained their confidence in Keith in just the nick of time. Quote
Dave in Green Posted February 10, 2010 Report Posted February 10, 2010 Zips win it at the free throw line with a perfect 12-12. MAC refs finally catch on as Zeke gets 4 clean blocks and only 1 foul. Life is good. Quote
RowdyZip Posted February 10, 2010 Report Posted February 10, 2010 Two items of interest:Zips FTs: 12/12 (including some CLUTCH FTs by McNees and Humpty)VCU/GMU in a tight game now.http://scores.espn.go.com/ncb/gamecast?gameId=300402244 Quote
ZippyforPresident Posted February 10, 2010 Report Posted February 10, 2010 Tonight might have been THAT game. The game that gives a team that confidence, that toughness, and a focus that can propel them for the rest of the season. Kind of like the Toledo game in the opening round of the tournament last season. A game when a team finds a way to win a game where nothing was going right and it seemed like there was no way victory is possible, but you don't give up, you believe in yourself and you come through in the stretch and just forge ahead. A terrible game, but great win. Quote
zippy5 Posted February 10, 2010 Report Posted February 10, 2010 Being a Steeler fan, I've come to realize that an ugly win is just as good as a pretty one. a win is a win is a win!! Quote
Valpo Zip Posted February 10, 2010 Report Posted February 10, 2010 This is one of those games that makes you feel good. We are used to loosing games that we should win. I think this is the first time i experience winning a game that we should have lost. It feels good.Kudos to Zeke, Mcneese, Conyers, and most of all KD. The TO and clock management as well as the subs at the end of the game were all crucial. On the negative side, Chris Mcknight continues to disappoint me. Gozips, I hope your friend Phil McKnight can lit some fire under both his sons. Let's hope the cardinals can give us a hand against the felons. Quote
Dave in Green Posted February 10, 2010 Report Posted February 10, 2010 Zeke really did own the court in crunch time. With 1:24 left and the Zips trailing 50-52, he had 3 rebounds and a block over those last 84 seconds.Conyers had pulled them to within 2 with a layup, C. McKnight tied it with a layup after a Zeke rebound, McNees put them 2 ahead with a pair of free throws after a Zeke rebound, and Hitchens sealed it with 2 more free throws after a Zeke block. It was a team victory, but Zeke was just outstanding at the end. I don't know how you don't have him on the court at the end of close games after this performance. Quote
