Dr Z
Mike Brown dresses for MVP award presentations like he coaches in game one round two playoff games!?! Thanks for taking the time to post the photos. Awesome.
Zipmeister
Yes, you can tell the award ceremony meant a lot to him and the rest of the team. Would love to attend a funeral with this group.

Honestly. It would have been nice to see Coach Brown dress up for this. I suppose the sloppiness of the others is excusable as they didn't know LeBron was going to ask them to come up on to the stage with him. But Coach Brown knew he'd be on stage w/ the other well dressed gentlemen & looks like a bum. Oh, well. Unfortunate faux pas. Coach Brown seems like a really friendly, humble guy. zipsfan13
I don't understand some of you guys. First, people were complaining about LeBron accepting his MVP award at Akron. Who cares how much the University will benefit, if it even benefits at all? We should just be happy that he wanted to come back to his hometown to accept it. Also, who cares what everyone was wearing? The guys had a day off and I'm sure they didn't feel like dressing up. Do you guys really look for the bad things in everything? I don't understand why people just can't be happy about having the chance to see LeBron and the rest of the Cavs at the JAR.

I don't care what anybody was wearing. Especially the players. They didn't take the podium (I'm guessing). I think it was great that LBJ did it in Akron and gave many props to Akron. But seriously, four out of five professionals figured it out. I think Mike was out of it all weekend long if you ask me:

Dr Z
is that LBJ's maybach?"James arrived fashionably late, riding in the back of a Maybach Zeppelin" source
johnnyzip84
is that LBJ's maybach? If it is, I wonder if he realizes how appropriate it is to have a car model of the name "Zeppelin" in a town with such a rich lighter-than-air history? While the Maybach model shown probably caused quite a stir, things could have really gotten interesting if he showed up in one of these (Maybach T3 Assault Gun)
bUAkronG
I planned on sticking around and getting pics of him getting in his car, but it began to rain and I didn't fancy getting my camera wet. Sorry for not getting proof it was his!

Dr Z
I believe the NHL has it right. They award the Hart trophy AFTER the playoffs to let the players focus on the games at hand. I think we saw first hand tonight what happens when you deviate your focus and turn your energy to individual awards right in the middle of the playoffs. I'm wondering if LBJ makes a comment about this.
ZippyforPresident
"Since I was a kid, I always said I'd find a way to put Akron on the map," James said. "It will always be my home and it will always be my life." James' comments seemed slightly ominous for a player on the eve of a big decision. He has given few clues about his intentions for when free agency opens on July 1, but James almost sounded as if he was preparing to say goodbye. "Akron, Ohio is my home," he said. "Akron, Ohio will always be remembered. Akron, Ohio is my life and I love this city." Later, he was asked how he could leave "all this." "This is home for me," he said. "I love this place to death. Every day I wake up I understand that I'm not just carrying myself but I'm also carrying this city to bigger and better heights. No matter where life may head me, I'm never gone from here." Read more: http://www.sacbee.com/2010/05/02/2721745/l...l#ixzz0mvZtQU8o That's really very cool. I take those statements at face value. I think that's pretty sincere and pretty excellent. What I hope this all means is that Lebron will be leaving Cleveland... with the rest of his teammates. He buys the team from that carpetbagger gilbert and moves the team about an hour south/southeast. Akron Cavaliers? Has a much better ring to it... Also, as long as he plays for them, he knows the team will be a great investment... Almost monopolistic, or maybe some form of insider trading in a way..
