How will we know if you don't post your score?

It will be interesting. What is 5 minutes?

The questions are stupid. For example, I have no idea what my race has to do with liberty and freedom. I have no idea what being proud of being an American has to do with liberty and freedom....there are lots of people who are proud Americans who are trying to limit my freedoms. It's a childish survey.

The survey is also written for the British.

HAHAHA

The questions are a constant. That makes them good for comparison. What does it matter that it is British.

What are you talking about? Freedom and religion and American pride? It is a political survey! It is juxtapositioning those stances with your world view. Just answer the questions and show Zipsnation how libertarian you really are. Stop being such a baby.

I'll exercise my freedom and just say, no thanks. I've never been one to give into pressure. The survey is silly.

While in part, I agree with GP1, the test may seem silly, but I have taken about 5 of these things and end up scoring the same on all. The test is consistent with the others, so there must be some sort of truth to it. I think GP1 took the test and is afraid to post the results. :P

Actually, I get a kick out of all of my loyal subjects asking me to take a test I could really care less about.

Me too.

I have linked out this survey to alot of people. I am almost always the most "Gandhi." Or the most loony. What ever you want to call it.

In GP1's defense, some of the questions are uncomfortable. Not many people can say they asked themselves those questions outside the survey environment.

The only problem is I'm not made uncomfortable by the survey. I think anyone who has read more than 20 of my posts over the years could admit I am probably the most comfortable person on the board. Nothing seems to phase me. There are people on this board who absolutely hate my posts and reply in nasty terms. Honest go God, I forget who they are after I read them. That's the sign of someone who is comfortable and doesn't give a crap about what people think of him. I know I'm not a racist. I know people from all political views are good Americans. I know people who are religious aren't stupid and I know people who are not religious aren't stupid. I know Rachel Maddow and Sean Hannity are disgusting human beings who believe they are actually doing something good. I know people from other countries can be good people. I just came to the realization I am even greater than I even thought.

I tried to take the test. Half way through the third page I was so bored with the juvenile nature of the questioning I went no further.

When you are as smart as the Great GP1, these questions have complicated responses. For example, one of the questions is "An eye for and eye, and a tooth for a tooth." How should we look at that?

One way is Biblical. After all, it comes from the Bible. The question is, Is the statement calling for punishment or restraint? If it is punishment, then whatever you do to someone else, you should have done to you. Should we kill someone who accidentally kills another person in a crime classified as less than murder in the first degree? I'm not sure that is a proper punishment for some of the lesser murder charges.

In the great and complicated mind of the Great GP1, I believe the statment is about showing restraint and encouraging people to be better instead of bitter savages Hell bent on revenge. Maybe it means, ONLY and eye for an eye and nothing extreme. The Bible is a tool for bettering ourselves, not turning us into savages.

Republicans like to use this statement as defense for the death penalty. They also like to tell us about the 10 Commandments. The last time I read the 10 Commandments, I could have swore one of them said, "You shall not kill". I don't think it said, "If you aren't too busy and it isn't too much of an inconvenience, please try not to kill one another." They are the 10 Commandments, not the 10 Requests. In an effort to play God, Republicans discard one of God's laws. That could be a hard one to answer for some day. As a rule, don't kill anyone unless they are trying to kill you.

So click on "disagree" like I did and move on. (BTW I did not need to refer to the bible to make my decision)

Very fascinating -- though I think I took this previously several years ago. Not sure if I've changed (though change is a good thing) BUT:

Econ Left/Right -6.62

Social Libertarian/Authoritarian -8.41

Yes -- I'm way out there! Can GP-1 say that? How about the Paulists?

Go Left Libs!

But I agree if it is to show restraint.

Economic Left/ Right = 6.12

Social Libertarian Authoritarian = 2.51

I support the private sector and the constitution. I'm in favor of the preseervation of my freedoms that were given to me by our founding fathers. I don't care much for government. With the exception of a few extreme cases, we are all capable of taking care of ourselves. We do not need government for that. Let them defend us and build our infrastructure. Otherwise, get out of the way and leave us alone.

President Reagan was right when he once said "Government cannot solve our problems because they are the problem".
