MaxZIP Posted August 26, 2010 Report Posted August 26, 2010 link big news! curious to hear the thoughts of all the people that have been bashing the new ad. Apparently Eastern Michigan is in on the exclusive deal and buffalo is one game short of an exclusive deal. I think that w/o details of the deal this is little more than giving game away close to STO's home base. I bet the AD had little to do with the "exclusive" deal. 9/11/10 2:00pm Eastern Michigan at Miami University (produced by ONN) 10/9/10 3:30pm Akron at Can't State 10/23/10 3:30pm Western Michigan at Akron (produced by University of Akron) 10/30/10 4:00pm Toledo at Eastern Michigan 11/20/10 2:00pm Eastern Michigan at Buffalo 11/26/10 2:00pm Buffalo at Akron Quote
ZachTheZip Posted August 26, 2010 Report Posted August 26, 2010 The WMU game is the only football game in our exclusive deal. It's separate from the MAC deal which is what all the other games are under. Quote

I know. It is just small taters. The AD probably had little or nothing to do with it. The member who started the thread was making it seem like the ad signed multi sport huge agreement with ESPN. Hardly enough for the AD bahers to eat crow. Quote
Blue & Gold Posted August 26, 2010 Report Posted August 26, 2010 IMHO any TV coverage is good. It gives the perception to the community that a Zips game is an event; a big deal. But I do wish they'd give priority to televising our AWAY games as opposed to televising the home contests which I'll be attending anyhow. Quote
xu9697 Posted August 26, 2010 Report Posted August 26, 2010 Now...we need to get a coaches show...or multiple coaches shows. Might be a bit late for Ianallo and/or Porter this year, but UA has to get going with Dambrot and STO NOW!!!!! Quote
Dr Z Posted August 26, 2010 Report Posted August 26, 2010 Now...we need to get a coaches show...or multiple coaches shows. Might be a bit late for Ianallo.Absolutely. I want a football coaches show where they go over tape from the game. Quote
Captain Kangaroo Posted August 26, 2010 Report Posted August 26, 2010 link big news! curious to hear the thoughts of all the people that have been bashing the new ad. Mike Thomas got the practice facility built, and transformed stadium talk from a wet dream, into a reality. He hired Dambrot. Mack Rhoades got the stadium completed, and on-time. He cleaned up UA's shoddy athletic academic support. He hired Kest. Our new AD's meal ticket is Rob Ianello. Little STO deals are nice. Getting the soccer stadium upgraded quickly is very nice. But changing the nick name from "YouTube Tom" to "Touchdown Tom" is what will impress. Bringing winning football to Akron is equally as impressive/important as getting the stadium built. That is what gets you a BCS AD job. Winning football helps everyone, and losing football drags everyone...every program...down. UA can't afford to lose on the football field any longer. TW's job is to change that. And of course, not to screw up the good thing we've got going in hoops. TW's successor will hopefully have the Basketball Arena Project as his/her BCS AD resume'-building ticket. Quote
