Can we please join C-USA or the Big Ten for only Men's Soccer yet? If we were in C-USA they would have the same average RPI as the ACC. If we were in the Big Ten, can you even imagine the strength of that league?

What happened to Hartwick? They tied the Zips a couple years ago in a very competitive match.

Their coach left them for Syracuse and $$$. And he took all the top Hartwick players with him. There's really nothing left of the team that challenged the Zips the past few years.

I tend to relate the soccer polls to basketball, where a team can have a bad game, get a few blown calls or an average team plays waaaayyyyy beyond themselves and pulls the upset, yet due to sos the #1 doesn't fall in the polls.......

I hope people realize -- the NCAA seedings are based almost entirely on RPI. So margin of victory is irrelavent. Akron just has to win the MAC -- that's all they can do. Question is, does Lollaville play anyone in BE Tourney that could catapult them? Georgetown #15; UConn #18. MAC -- # Crap.

Most importantly at this point though, there is virtually no scenario where we are not a top 4 seed and guaranteed home field all the way to Santa Barbara.

Even if we aren't #1 we'll be alright.

Exactly...a #1 or #2 seed in the tournament is essentially the exact same thing.

Seems we've dropped to #2 in the latest RPI behind Louisville.

I think Louisville will finally cough one up on Friday vs. Notre Dame. It's tough to run through a season with no losses, but Louisville's schedule is nothing to write home about and I really wouldn't worry about playing them like I would Maryland, North Carolina, or even Indiana.

Hell, i'm more afraid of Creighton or OSU compared to Louisville.

That drop is a result of playing Hartwick. They were rated so low that our SOS plummeted.

Can you provide a link to the RPI? I see the Zips are still #2 behind Louisville in the NSCAA poll, but I didn't find the updated RPI rankings.

NCAA Soccer RPI.

Thanks. That worked once I cleared my cache.

Edit: No help from our opponents this weekend: Buffalo (106), BUGS (108), W. Michigan (127)

Final RPI that will help determine NCAA seeding will be out tomorrow. While we didn't get any help from who we played this weekend, officially Louisville recorded a tie in the Big East final. Will that be enough to vault the Zips back to the top spot? In any case, the Zips will almost certainly get a top four seed which means all games would be at home until the College Cup. Since the NCAA also typically regionalizes the opening couple of rounds, we could be seeing OSU or Xavier as our second round opponent.

OSU would be absolutely nuts. I hope that's the draw!!
