uhgrad2002
The football team played hard and with passion. The players on the bench were involved -- even doing organized cheers to support the unit on the field. There was some imaginative play calling. Tonight I am not even going to look at the down side. Yes, another loss, but it was a fun game to watch/cheer on and for the first time this season I at least feel some hope for the future. Big Zip
I was going to post something similar. The team played hard tonight and I thought they played with passion. If this team plays like this next Friday we will see our first win and I predict we may see a win by double digits. I'd like to see a 70-30 dose of run/pass. johnnyzip84
I'm in agreement as well. We just came up short last night. One question I have: where is Richard Hall????? OK TWO questions: Where has the no-huddle been all year?

Well that's sort of a relief...I was fearing he may have gone the way of Georgio Bowers. on the no-huddle quip
Blue & Gold
Due to an appointment, I was relegated to watching the game online last night. I liked what I was able to see. I'm actually shocked at how hard the team is playing. If I was 0-10 I think it'd be tough to get motivated. Very impressed by that. I also liked the play calling. The tailback throwback to Nicely was an incredibly gutsy call. That's the sort of call that, if it works, it is seen as brilliant; if it doesn't work it is viewed as stupid. But either way, it sure was gutsy, and, since it worked, I'll say it was brilliant! Painful loss for the coaches and players. In position to win with 1:30 left and we fumble the ball on what, around the 10? I'll be there next Friday as we avoid the 0-fer.

Andy Alleman more or less guaranteed it! I sure hope Zach Campbell gets out of this funk though. He must have let CK's praise get to his head! Zipmeister
Had the inept meter on last night's contest. While the offense remains inept, the defense registered as ept.

My updated ratings have Alex Allen running away with Team Offensive MVP. I think the wear and tear on Campbell's leg is starting to show. He's punted more times this season than an Auburn punter will kick in an entire 4-year career.

Dave in Green
The Zips were far from great against a team that had just lost its starting QB. But the players showed a lot of heart and enthusiasm, and the coaching staff made a few good calls. That all added up to making for a more interesting and entertaining game to me, and not a total waste of time to be sitting out there in that cold, empty stadium. Progress may be coming in baby steps. But it still beats continuous regression, with each game being worse than the one before it. I'll keep coming back for more as long as they continue to show me they're still trying.
Z.I.P.
I'm in agreement as well. We just came up short last night. One question I have: where is Richard Hall????? OK TWO questions: Where has the no-huddle been all year? Word on the street was - Hall was suspended. Also - I heard the no-huddle was suspended for the first 10 games. Dari Nowkhah, the ESPNU play voice (believe, me, I HAD to look up that spelling!) said that ten Akron players from last year had left the team -- either by the coaches decisions, or they did not want to be part of the new regime - that I assume doesn't include Giorgio B. I believe he mentioned Richard Hall as being suspended for the well known "violation of team rules", and I think he said it would last the rest of the season. Did anyone else catch that? I wonder if the number of TV viewers for this one outnumbered those in the stands, who looked like an average ladies volleyball fanbase. Didn't catch the box att #, but from the blimp view prior to the game, the "visitors" side of the stands was totally vacant, and the other side was about the same as that 9:30 PM CMU vs Montana St. basketball game I attended in Hawaii last Saturday.
