Z.I.P.
Last tailgate of the year. Gotta do it up right! Well...I've been trying to find out the set-up in Santa Barbara. Just gotta find a good Central Coast bubbly to celebrate with. Knock-on-wood. (Not the ex-basketball player.)
Wally B
Last tailgate of the year. Gotta do it up right! One idea: Well you've got the food! So who's bringing the fat lady? And what will she be singing?
Zipsrifle
Put me in the "We win by 2 TD's" column.
ZachTheZip
I'll be there. Win or lose, the implications are tremendous. Either go winless and be completely screwed for recruiting, fan support, and everything else as the worst team in the country or win and show the world that the team is improving despite everything and that they never gave up and fought through to the very end. Weather does not look very friendly for Friday.

ZipRoo
"That's right, Sarah, I've got this new guy, Newman, dictating the game plan...so we can't possibly lose Friday." "And the fact that it rankles those know-it-alls (snicker) on ZN makes it that much sweeter. Ah, who am I kiddin', Sarah, they love me." Zipmeister
Hey, a win will get us off the bottom ten list just in time for the end of the season. No it won't. Who are we playing after Bufalow? Who are we playing after Bufalow this year?

RootforRoo44
So....looking forward to being one of the only 20 people in the stands today. Judging by Lot 9's emptiness (an hour before kickoff) that may be a realistic assessment.
Dave in Green
Our group of 4 is just leaving for the stadium. Don't know why anyone would want to stay inside on such a beautiful, sunny day.
RowdyZip
I've resigned myself to the couch to watch this one. Knowing my luck, I'd get pneumonia watching the 12th loss of the year. How about K-ent knocking of OU? Phew...Miami from 1 win to (somewhat illegitimate) MAC East Champs. I think NIU rolls them in Detroit, but still good for them on the turnaround. RowdyZip
I don't know if anyone else is watching this mess, but wow is it like watching a bad high school game. I have no optimism toward this program whatsoever. Very depressing.

RootforRoo44
That was the most fun i've ever had at a Zips football game. Great time and great effort today from the team. FINALLY. I BELIEVE THAT WE HAVE ONE (1) !
ZachTheZip
Yeah! Bring on Ohio State (our next opponent)! We're totally gonna kick their a$$es!

Dave in Green
Are there actually Bottom Ten rules posted somewhere? I've always believed that the Bottom Ten was nothing more than someone just winging it.

ZachTheZip
Are there actually Bottom Ten rules posted somewhere? I've always believed that the Bottom Ten was nothing more than someone just winging it. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?page=bottom10084: "Rules are rules. One of the first rules in the Bottom 10 bylaws states that a win of any kind guarantees removal from the Bottom 10 for at least one week. Wins over FCS teams won't put much wind in the sails of the Syracuse, Washington State and UAB programs, but those wins will allow the trio to sail off the Bottom 10 this week. Utah State earned its exit with a win over Bottom 10 neighbor Idaho." I can't find an actual list of the rules, but they frequently mention this rule and one other one (a loss to an FCS team means automatic inclusion that week) in their introductory paragraphs. Dave in Green
Good find, Zach. Though I think that's more of a "winging it" rule than a formal rule, I'll gladly accept them applying it to the Zips.
