tbozeglav Posted January 10, 2011 Report Posted January 10, 2011 I know a thread exists about this topic, but I can't find it. Oh well. I was linked to the NCAA on Demand site and submitted a request to be able to purchase the 2010 championship game on DVD. Here's the response I got back: Thanks for your email. We have this game, but it is not in the queue for production due to limited demand. We would be glad to produce any game with a minimum bulk order of 25 units per game at $24.99/unit. If you cannot furnish a bulk order of this size we can dub games straight to DVD for a cost of $150 per game. As a disclaimer, there would be no production with the straight dub (no case or disc artwork, chapters, menu screen, etc...). It would be a DVD dub of the game in a plain jewel DVD case. Please let us know if this interests you. Thanks, NCAA On Demand So I guess it comes down to whether we would be able to gather 25 orders... Quote
RootforRoo44 Posted January 10, 2011 Report Posted January 10, 2011 What a slap in the face. "Limited demand"?! But they have Field Hockey, Wrestling, and Women's Tennis?! DOZENS of them. Just absurd. Quote
MDZip Posted January 10, 2011 Report Posted January 10, 2011 If you're looking to try to get 25 folks, I'm in. Quote

Zip_ME87 Posted January 10, 2011 Report Posted January 10, 2011 I'd be in for 2 copies...1 for me and 1 as a gift. Quote
MaxZIP Posted January 10, 2011 Report Posted January 10, 2011 Can we reproduce the DVD and add the production value ourselves for the $150? Quote
tbozeglav Posted January 10, 2011 Author Report Posted January 10, 2011 Can we reproduce the DVD and add the production value ourselves for the $150? I would assume there would be a copyright applied to the video that prohibits the reproduction and sale of the video. Either way, I plan on ripping the DVD to a digital format so I can play it anywhere 1 Quote

tbozeglav Posted January 10, 2011 Author Report Posted January 10, 2011 How about giving them away? I dont know the letter of the copyright, so I can't say. One would assume that making copies for free wouldn't constitute copyright infringement, but to me this seems like a copyright "grey area". Perhaps someone with greater knowledge of copyright laws dealing with copies of a televised program could chime in? Quote

If they're not interested in taking advantage of this -- I'd assume the NCAA would be willing to sell at a wholesale rate. You'd think they could sell at least a couple hundred. I know Skip-Zip is interested in something with such mass appeal. Quote
bwestdpm Posted January 27 Report Posted January 27 Way late to this thread any way to get this game on dvd???? Thanks! Quote
