Captain Kangaroo Posted February 9, 2011 Report Posted February 9, 2011 Toledo's class is intriguing Quote
Blue & Gold Posted February 9, 2011 Report Posted February 9, 2011 Intriguing? I'd say Toledo kicked our ass! (2nd year in a row for that, btw.) Quote
xu9697 Posted February 9, 2011 Report Posted February 9, 2011 Toledo can back their facilities (new indoor football facility) with actual REAL success on the field. I think they have beaten more BCS teams than any other MAC school in the last 10 years. Michigan, Purdue (2), Kansas, Iowa State, etc. Ianallo struck out in not landing Joe Haden's brothers. I watched Josh @ BC..he is a really nice RB, but definitely a better fit for a spread type team. Quote
Buckzip Posted February 9, 2011 Report Posted February 9, 2011 So the great recruiter comes in and gets a middle of the pack MAC class. Granted ranking don't mean everything, but for many of our players, Akron was their best offer. Bad coach with bad talent equals horrendous team. Quote

Lets hope these kids are better than projected. But, it's scary to me is Akron was the best offer for most of these kids. Quote
Dr Z Posted February 9, 2011 Report Posted February 9, 2011 I would like to see VanDelay redo this grading system for 2011 in 2015. You can put all the Mac teams on a dart board and throw at them and come up with a list that might be more accurate. People eat this stuff up, and it is as meaningless as anything. I hope I can remember to look this thread up in 4 years. Maybe we are in the middle, maybe we are last, maybe we are first. Quote
GoZips Posted February 9, 2011 Report Posted February 9, 2011 A 1-11 team is a tough sell; new facilities or not. What perks my interest are the JUCO transfers. These are athletes that were originally targeted to BCS caliber teams. This is a core to build on. Kids do grow up. I hope that especially Moore brings maturity, leadership and a winning attitude. Then, the lowly Zips actually have a genuine chance of success. Quote
