ZN.O is not unique. Every sports forum I've ever visited has some degree of coach hate regardless of the coach's record. Even the coaches with winning records are ripped for not winning more and winning bigger. No matter how silly that may seem to some, it's just the way sports works, so we might as well all get used to it. Some sports fans are always on the lookout for new coaches just like some men at bars are always on the lookout for new women.

Sure, knocking the coach is common on fan boards, but very few fans have ever had to endure a season like last year for their newly-hired coach.

The griping by the fans about the travesty that was the 2010 Akron football seasnon is entirely understandable. Last season was historically bad. The complaints from the fan are not "just the way sports works." Its what you get when you put out a horrid product.

Akron football has been a horrible product for a long time now....what else is new? We all thought JD might be able to turn it around and we had a glimpse of hope, but it faded quickly. Let's give this guy a shot and see if it works out.

I want Coach Ianello to succeed. Every new coach deserves time to put his together his team and his system. But last year was a disaster. For most of the year, we were not just getting beat, we were getting humiliated. One one-sided loss after another. No one saw that trainwreck of a season coming.

My point was just that all the complaining about the coach by the fans was not just "fans being fans." They were given good reason to complain.

In our last 3 games, things seemed to be coming together somewhat. Ball State and Buffalo were bad teams..both COULD have been wins, both COULD have been losses. But they were at least entertaining games. And dang, we were close against Miami. I am hoping that there is something to build on from those 3 performances, 2nd year in the system, weeding out the guys that don't want to play for Ianallo (not saying they are good or bad guys, good or bad players...just that they were not onboard), etc.

The problem with those close games last year was that the seniors carried the team completely. And they're all gone.

Brian Wagner had a major impact on all games last year.

The '69 Mets have nothing on The Amazing Zach.

They almost carried them into the trash heap of history. We should rejoice in their leaving.

Sometimes I think Zach may be a Flash fan just trying to get a rise out of us, but then I think, who would put this much effort into it? confused0006.gif
