yazan07 Posted June 15, 2011 Report Posted June 15, 2011 I don't mind whoring out our stadium's name if it means a better stadium! Quote
MaxZIP Posted June 16, 2011 Report Posted June 16, 2011 300 new grandstand seats will be great. How many chair back and and box seats are there now? Quote
Captain Kangaroo Posted June 16, 2011 Report Posted June 16, 2011 Seems like Cub Cadet negotiated a crappy deal? Named the soccer stadium through April 2031 forFirstEnergy in recognition of a $500,000 gift. In April, trustees named the soccer field for the Cub Cadet outdoor power equipment made by MTD Products Inc. of Cleveland, through 2017 in recognition of a $395,000 gift. $500k gets Stadium naming rights thru 2031. $395k gets Field naming rights thru 2017? Perhaps they cut them a deal on the naming rights due to their apparent help with additional improvements? Or is the $500,000 what is being used towards the improvement? If so....yeah, Cub Cadet lost out there. I would still think that FirstEnergy got a better deal b/c of longstanding relationship and all the other things they do for UA. Quote
zip37 Posted June 16, 2011 Report Posted June 16, 2011 As far as I know, Cob Cadet has made only one donation, while Ohio Ed/FirstEnergy has donated tons of $. Go FirstEnergy, and thank you. FirstEnergy has done MUCH more for the U of A than a of of local companies. Quote

MDZip Posted June 17, 2011 Report Posted June 17, 2011 College Soccer News has named Cub Cadet Field as the 4th best place to watch a college soccer match. I've been to #3 and #2 and both are excellent too so we are in fine company. #4 - Cub Cadet Field (formerly Lee R. Jackson Soccer Field) - University of Akron - The house that Porter built. Akron soccer continues to move on up with a national championship the most recent accomplishment. The old adage is build it and they will come. The program has advanced to a higher level and the Akron nation has responded making Cub Cadet Field one of the most energized stadiums in the country in which to witness a college soccer match. A ton of fun for the fan base and a huge plus for the team. Go Zips. Quote

bobbyake Posted June 20, 2011 Report Posted June 20, 2011 considering how much both companies spent for naming rings, they both got a bargain. Quote
