skip-zip
the people who want a tougher schedule will the same ones complaining if we lose most of those games.big zip will be leading the way for a coaching change just like every year..just go back and look at the post from last year when we were under.500.it happens every year.we lose a few mac games, and most fans were questioning every move k.d. made.we need a new coach blah, blah,.you could count on one hand the k.d. supporters at the time.when we won the mac tourney then all the same people were saying how great of a coach he was,or left the board like big zip. Nope. I EXPECT that a tougher schedule could result in more losses. I also expect that it will increase our visibility, increase our exposure among potential recruits, increase our level of national respect, and increase our opportunity for an at-large bid. Dr Z
For those of you who have long clamored for a "tough" schedule ... you get your wish. The Zips open the season at Mississippi State with a road game not long after in Morgantown against the West Virginia Mountaineers. Marshall comes to town along with Detroit (they are loaded) and Virginia Commonwealth. Trips to Valpo and Duquesne are scheduled. While the schedule is not complete, these games are firm. Oh, a short trip up to Cleveland State on the docket.Might have answered my question from 7 months ago.
GP1
I also expect that it will increase our visibility, increase our exposure among potential recruits, increase our level of national respect, and increase our opportunity for an at-large bid. Increase visibility? Yes. Let's hope in a good way. Exposure to recruits? Maybe. We get plenty of exposure for the recruits we look at. National respect? If we win, yes. If we lose...no, but we care more about the ooc games against high majors than the rest of the country does. It takes a boatload of winning for a mid major to get national respect. Increase opportunity for at-large bid? Maybe. We can't beat Miss St and then fall flat against the likes of Cleveland State. The Zips need to go on a huge ooc run next year. The talent is there, the coaching is there and the experience is there. They need to make it happen.
RACER
i like playing a tougher occ also.we need to get pt for some of the younger guys. not many mid majors win on the raod against big east teams though. i just know the kd trolls will come out if we lose some of these games.
