ZipGoTheZippers! Posted June 30, 2011 Report Posted June 30, 2011 A friend of mine who is an alumni at WVU told me about this today not sure if it has been mentioned here yet. Excited to see this game. http://www.msnsportsnet.com/page.cfm?story...;cat=exclusives Quote
zips4ever2008 Posted June 30, 2011 Report Posted June 30, 2011 That is exciting to see. I wonder if it's going to be a home and home series with WVU. A game like that can really fill up the JAR. Quote

ZachTheZip Posted June 30, 2011 Report Posted June 30, 2011 We're also playing at Marshall. Perhaps a "West Virginia Weekend" will be on the schedule? Quote
johnnyzip84 Posted June 30, 2011 Report Posted June 30, 2011 Very cool! The person I'm most happy for is Nitro. He has to be thrilled! And since I have a brother who graduated from WVU (he was there when Huggins played), I'm thinking road trip Quote
Captain Kangaroo Posted June 30, 2011 Report Posted June 30, 2011 I wonder if it's going to be a home and home series with WVU. Wonder no more. There is no chance WVA ever comes to the JAR. K.e.n.t. fans have a better chance of having a felon-free roster. We took this game because WVA waved a bunch of money around. We can only wave coupons for $1 hot dogs in front of Huggins. That's not enough. Quote

That's not enough. More than likely it is just a 1 off game with WVU ponying up some cash to bring in the Zips. Best case scenario would be a 2 for 1 or 3 for 1 kind of scenario with us eventually getting a return game at the Q, but that is highly, HIGHLY unlikely. Think of it as being this years equivalent of last seasons Minnesota game. Quote

Spin Posted July 1, 2011 Report Posted July 1, 2011 I'll be more clear. I spoke to a coach. West Virginia is not traveling to Akron. Ever. Why not, people travelled from West Virginia to Akron (Barberton and Kenmore) looking for work for over a century. The three R's in WV were Readin', Ritin', and Route 21. Quote

I used to call Columbus, West Virginia West. It was as far as someone could drive from West Virginia on a tank of gas in their pick-up truck so they all immigrated there. Quote
ZachTheZip Posted July 2, 2011 Report Posted July 2, 2011 This is a good year to face WVU. They're extremely young and we're going to have our best team in history. Sounds like a great combo for an upset. Quote
