Killer, killer, killer beer department. Bintang??? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bintang_Beer You know Doug, I didn't really pay a whole lot of attention to the import section, but it looked to be almost all European, nothing Asian jumped out at me, but it could have been there. I just really can't say. The import section was dwarfed by the American Micros, which had me under their spell, so I am not a good judge. Sorry, Doug. I will pay more attention from now on when I am on a beer trek.

johnnyzip84
The Buehler's in Jackson has a pretty fine selection also.
Doug Snyder
The Buehler's in Jackson has a pretty fine selection also. Even better!!! I grew up in Jackson and am staying in N. Canton until January. I go by there all the time...will stop soon. Thanks :-)
K92
We have a Buehler's in Ashland which has the best selection in town but it is...in Ashland. Some of you may know what I mean. The Buehler's in Wooster is better than Ashland but plays second fiddle to Gary's Liquor. In Akron, West Point Market and Primo's Deli have a fair selection, but I am probably unaware of some better spots. The Brunswick store blew my mind. They claim 500 Varieties of bottled beer and they have 8 beers on tap that you can fill your growler with. Lots of singles if that's your deal. I was talking to a patron there who said Brunswick was the pilot store for the expanded beer selection and if it was successful they planned to enlarge the beer departments at other locations. Maybe they are starting to do that by the sound of the Jackson selection.
johnnyzip84
It sounds like the Brunswick store may be a few steps ahead. There aren't any taps at the Jackson store, but it's still probably worth a look.
Dave in Green
Buehler's in Jackson is OK. My wife and I just shopped there today. But I'd estimate that West Point Market has at least four times more shelf space devoted to micros and imports than Buehler's in Jackson. zen
I was told that Heineken doesn't import Tarwebok anymore, but told by others that it's imported as "Special Dark". If you spot it, please let me know. I'd appreciate it.

Thanks

Thanks Yocono's was sold a few years back and is nowhere near the same place it was when owned by the family. They were shutdown for a while earlier this year for failing to pay their taxes. Larry's Main Entrance would be my choice of a Walhaven eating place.

Dave in Green
And Dr Z ends the contest. A little bit of a drive, but Red, Wine & Brew appears to be unbeatable. I'll give it a try next time I'm up that way.

Larrys take all forms of payment, did you mean Yocono's? BTW, Luigis only takes cash or checks. Good luck getting a table there on a weekend. Dr Z
Thank you, Dr. Z. Road trip to Chesterland!I know it's kind of a hull for some of you, but kind of worth the trip. His prices are pretty good also. Another place that I frequent since its closer to my home is Twinsburg Beverage Beer & Wine. They have recently (a year ago) expanded and he is getting better and better. Another really good place if your ever in the neighborhood, is a place in Salem on the corner of 224 and 45 called Country Pantry Gulf. It's a Gulf gas station, but they have hundreds of beers. Not worth a road trip, but if your passing in that area, worth a stop. While we are on the subject of alcohol, not worth it's own thread, but if you are a fan of scotch from Islay, I had a 12 year old Caol Ila last night. Incredible. K92
I am on vacation this week and I plan on making it up to Red, White and Brew at some point. If they have Bintang, I would be glad to pick some up for you, Doug. If anyone else has something they want me to look for, let me know. We can hook up at the Temple game. Also, went to West Point Market Sunday. Their beer selection has gotten smaller since the last time i was there. However, they have added 4 beers on tap and they had an exclusive Thirsty Dog English Style IPA commemorating WPM's 75th anniversary. She will kill me if I miss that event for a footbal game (Zach....please take notes. Football less important the giving birth) If you find the beer, it will have to be the following game. Unless of course...my new daughter decides to come early. I really appreciate the offer. Looking forward to sharing a beer (not the same bottle tho).
