bobbyake Posted October 19, 2011 Report Posted October 19, 2011 Plan on tailgating Wednesday, October 26 for the Bowling Green game. Possibly lot 9 unless anyone has a better location. I will look into getting a half keg of Thirsty Dog Pumpkin Ale and will buy a bunch of hot dogs for the event. http://thirstydog.com/news/beers.php forecast says 60% chance of rain but a little rain never hurt anyone. bisbee Posted October 19, 2011 Report Posted October 19, 2011 I'll be there is spirit...next time i will be at game will be against wake. Phoenix, unfortunately,is a long way from Akron Quote
skip-zip Posted October 19, 2011 Report Posted October 19, 2011 I think it would be great if people started tailgating for Soccer too. You sometimes see a few people out there. It helped when it was preceded by a football game, like we saw a couple of weeks ago. We will get one other opportunity like that, on the 29th of October. But, the football game is at noon this time, so I don't expect as many of those people to stick around all afternoon.Bobby, these next couple of games will be the real test with soccer attendance. It's dropped dramatically since we had a loss and the weather has gotten cooler. And now another loss, and possibly a drop out of the Top 10. So, are all of these people bandwagoners who only cared when we were the top team in the nation? Or, are they going to show that they really want to support Akron soccer? I sure hope it's the latter, but I have serious doubts. Quote
K92 Posted October 19, 2011 Report Posted October 19, 2011 Kudos to Bobby for organizing a tailgating event. You are a man after my own heart. Akron needs more people like you to cultivate a bigger better tailgate culture. Quote

RootforRoo44 Posted October 23, 2011 Report Posted October 23, 2011 Can't wait for Wednesday. I have 5 coming for sure in my group. Quote
fknbuflobo Posted October 24, 2011 Report Posted October 24, 2011 Lot 9 is free, and they allow drinking? Quote
Ando Posted October 25, 2011 Report Posted October 25, 2011 Lot 9 is free, and they allow drinking?I think it does require a university parking pass, although I'm not sure if they'll actually be out enforcing/ticketing during gametime - I would think you'd be fine without. I'll just be walking over from my house (I live about a block away), so you can just borrow my parking pass if you like. As for the drinking, they let it happen for football games, so I would think we're in the clear. Quote
RootforRoo44 Posted October 25, 2011 Report Posted October 25, 2011 Lot 9 is free, and they allow drinking?yes and yes. We've been tailgating there all season and haven't had a problem, even gave a member of UAPD a hot dog the one time. Quote

mes102 Posted October 26, 2011 Report Posted October 26, 2011 How early will someone be at Lot 9? I have to leave for Cleveland area around 3-3:30, and have some bag of chips I can drop off for everyone that will be there...I just can't stay and enjoy...I'll be back in enough time for the game(should be back by 7:00/7:15), just not for tailgating...I'll be able to tailgate saturday though(football and soccer) Quote
