RowdyZip Posted November 10, 2011 Report Posted November 10, 2011 Future opponent Duquesne Dukes up 30-28 at the half @ #16 Arizona. It's a good thing this "tournament" guaranteed the top teams getting to play in the "finals" in MSG. Quote
UAZips Posted November 10, 2011 Report Posted November 10, 2011 Love this quote from an MSU board:"regardless of the outcome, akron is the type of team state needs to aspire to be. i love akron, those guys look great together, FAR better TEAM." Quote

Dave in Green Posted November 13, 2011 Report Posted November 13, 2011 Mississippi State knocked off South Alabama today, 80-65. They did it without the services of Renardo Sidney who was out with a groin pull, no doubt a result of trying to score over Zeke earlier this week. Moultrie and Bost both had good games today without Zeke and Rico around to harass them into numerous mistakes. Quote
Dave in Green Posted November 14, 2011 Report Posted November 14, 2011 How cool is this? The CBS college basketball summary for Saturday gives headline accolades to Arnett Moultrie stepping up for the MSU Bulldogs in their win over South Alabama, "bouncing back in a big way from his disappointing performance against Akron earlier in the week." Night Court: Moultrie steps up for MSU Bulldogs Quote
GoZips Posted November 28, 2011 Report Posted November 28, 2011 A little update on (7-1) Mississippi State. Since losing to Akron the Pups have reeled off six straight victories. Granted, four of them were at home against opponents Akron would be ashamed to schedule. But, they did beat two top 25 teams at Madison Square Garden in the 2K Coaches Classic. Next Saturday (Dec 3rd) MSU takes on the West Virginia Mountaineers (at home). But, on Dec. 17th they travel to Detroit, MI to play at Detroit Mercy. It is a small world. Quote
johnnyzip84 Posted March 15, 2012 Report Posted March 15, 2012 Just like John Chaney But 52 is REALLY young to be retiring from college coaching. I'll bet he shows up somewhere else before too long. Can't say I'm that impressed with his in-game coaching though, And he took some risks on players that ended up costing him. Before anyone mentions it, I DO recall that Chaney didn't actually coach the NIT game against the Zips. But I like to think the UA victory still hastened his retirement! Quote
