And Mississippi St. has fallen to 57th. Shouldn't they be getting more credit for playing the #1 RPI team in the nation?

:thumb:

Cleveland State punched an over rated Vanderbilt in the mouth.

To be fair, Vandy played without their All-American point guard.

Still, an excellent win for CSU.

Ball State nearly punched out Arizona having led most of the game.

That would have given the MAC two road wins over SEC teams.

BGSU struggled against SEC team Georgia and pulled close at the end.

If BGSU and Ball State capture victories the MAC would have a great RPI.

Darn, there's that old woulda, coulda, shoulda. Dream on Zips.

Zona is in the PAC-12. Still would have been a nice win...better than the SEC.

I thought the Hiram game wouldn't be counted in the Zips' RPI due to Hiram being DIII???

It doesn't (even though it is listed as a win). I don't think our RPI went up, I think the few that were with us went down.

Zips' RPI went from .75 to .8333. I think I've figured it out. We got a small bump from MSU's win over South Alabama. It's so early in the season that the RPI numbers bounce up and down a lot based on the changing records of your opponents and your opponents' opponents. This is why early season RPI seems so goofy. RPI numbers become more reliable after a statistically significant number of games.

Zips could actually stay pretty high in RPI for awhile if they keep winning -- especially road games -- and all their opponents and opponents' opponents keep winning. Last season, William & Mary stayed at or near the top for about the first 10 games.

On that same RPI list Can't is ranked 342 of 344. They haven't played a game yet so I have no idea why they are ranked that low, but I think we need to capture the list and post it in the JAR. :)
