johnnyzip84 Posted November 19, 2011 Report Posted November 19, 2011 Walsh getting dribble happy. Quote
johnnyzip84 Posted November 19, 2011 Report Posted November 19, 2011 Homer Drew may have retired, but HOMER is still very much present in these Horizon officials. Quote
UAZips Posted November 19, 2011 Report Posted November 19, 2011 Surprised we're up one with the officiating going the way it has. A dirty look results in a foul for the Zips so far. Quote
Quickzips Posted November 19, 2011 Report Posted November 19, 2011 TERRIBLE first half for the Zips. It doesn't help when your playing 8 on 5. I'm honestly shocked that we still have the lead at the half. Just shows you how truely bad Valpo is. If they weren't getting to the free throw line every time the Zips sneeze this would be a 15+ point lead. If this whistle happy crap keeps up in the second half look for KD to go after the refs and pick up a T. I hope to god this crew isn't calling Duquesne game. Quote
UAZip0510 Posted November 19, 2011 Report Posted November 19, 2011 Wow, 21 free throws for Valpo, 4 for Akron in the 1st half. It's the only reason they are still in this one. Quote
Zipgrad1990 Posted November 19, 2011 Report Posted November 19, 2011 Terrible defense in the first half for Akron, way too many fouls (lots of questionable ones though)! Not very good offense either, I thought this team wasn't going to have these long droughts? Quote
gozips19 Posted November 19, 2011 Report Posted November 19, 2011 Valpo has 21 ft attempts wow...... Gilliam still looks a little lost playing the team game. It'll come though. The kids look really good! Quote
Blue & Gold Posted November 19, 2011 Report Posted November 19, 2011 I like that we look relaxed. Probably means we've got a lot of confidence. But we don't want to be over confident. Looks like we'd better raise our intensity & execution a bit in the second half. Zeke's gotta stay out of foul trouble. He does change the complexion of the game for us. Quote
dancooksey_2006@yahoo.com Posted November 19, 2011 Report Posted November 19, 2011 Just need to settle down and play smart. Add a ball fake or two into their arsenal and get it back rolling. Although, everyone being in some sort of foul trouble is quite annoying. Quote

They are Horizon refs, the outcome of the Akron vs Duq game is irrelevant to them. By they will hand Valpo this one. HAD to mute these squeaky voiced idiots "ahh we knew Valpo would keep this one close" yeah right... Quote

Lets hope the refs allow Akron to play a little more physically. all those foul shots      Quote

HAD to mute these squeaky voiced idiots "ahh we knew Valpo would keep this one close" yeah right... The only way Valpo is keeping this one tight is because of the foul trouble. Zeke didn't play the last 12 minutes, Nik the last 10. Diggs didn't play for about the last 5 or 6. We had our diaper dandies in there for most of the half, and it showed. If we were able to play our normal rotation this is a 15+ point game, but the refs aren't going to allow it. Not that our guys haven't made some bad fouls, but some of those whistles were just plain ridiculous. And the game isn't being called even. Valpo was flat mugging Zeke when he was in and had the ball. No call. Quote

Quickzips Posted November 19, 2011 Report Posted November 19, 2011 2 quick fouls on Zeke. So much for our at-large chances. This one is basically over if the whistles keep going like this. Quote
Derrt Posted November 19, 2011 Report Posted November 19, 2011 Horrible way to start off the second half SMH Quote
dancooksey_2006@yahoo.com Posted November 19, 2011 Report Posted November 19, 2011 I'd say now is a good time to panic. Quote
Derrt Posted November 19, 2011 Report Posted November 19, 2011 Our BIGS arent playing too big tonight Quote
akronzips71 Posted November 19, 2011 Report Posted November 19, 2011 WHERE ARE THE TRAVELING CALLS ON THE OTHER SIDE? THAT LAYUP PRACTICALLY STARTED AT HALF COURT. Quote
akzipper Posted November 19, 2011 Report Posted November 19, 2011 How do you play defense when they call a foul every time! Glad KD is sticking up for his team! Quote
Zipgrad1990 Posted November 19, 2011 Report Posted November 19, 2011 Looks like we stopped playing defense so as not to pick up any more fouls. This game is just horrible. Quote
Quickzips Posted November 19, 2011 Report Posted November 19, 2011 If I'm KD I'm laying into our guys right now. Play D the way we came to play D and don't worry about the foul situation. We'll play the walkons to end the game if we have to, but we can't keep playing this type of D. Valpo is on a 19-2 run going back to the first half. This is ridiculously bad. Quote
UAZip0510 Posted November 19, 2011 Report Posted November 19, 2011 I know there's home court advantage everywhere, but c'mon...this is laughable. Quote
akzipper Posted November 19, 2011 Report Posted November 19, 2011 This loss cancels out the Mississippi State win... Valpo is just bad and they never deserved to even be in this game Quote
UAZip0510 Posted November 19, 2011 Report Posted November 19, 2011 A lot of game left....huge test for Akron. Can they overcome 5-on-8? Quote
