psc2009 Posted December 8, 2011 Report Posted December 8, 2011 It seems like the perfect time to let bygones be bygones and bring back Marshall. Then, to make for a much better basketball conference, bring Memphis along for the ride. In a perfect world, that would convince both Temple and UMass to switch from the A-10. http://www.examiner.com/western-michigan-b...phis-from-c-usa Quote
Dr Z Posted December 8, 2011 Report Posted December 8, 2011 Loved to hate Marshall, bring 'em back! Quote
Dave in Green Posted December 8, 2011 Report Posted December 8, 2011 Interesting story. Key statement to me about what this could do for the MAC from a basketball perspective: A league with Memphis, UMass, Temple, Akron and Can't State would be better than what the Atlantic 10 can offer. Quote
Captain Kangaroo Posted December 8, 2011 Report Posted December 8, 2011 UMass and Memphis coming to the MAC in hoops? Take another toke... Quote

Honestly, if that were to happen (and I don't see it happening with Memphis and UMass), my guess is the Atlantic 10 would move swiftly in adding Butler, then look to maybe Cleveland State, Detroit, Iona, Siena, etc. The MAC, sadly, needs Temple and UMass in football much more than those schools need the MAC for basketball. I would love to see it happen b/c, in the end, it would benefit the MAC and the A10. Quote
The Hip Zip Posted December 9, 2011 Report Posted December 9, 2011 I'd love to see the Herd come back. I thought it was one of the dumbest moves, at least from a traveling standpoint, ever when they left. I still remember like it was yesterday when their O linemen picked up Leftwich and carried him down the field at the rubber bowl. they were a very good fit for our conference. Quote
