K92 Posted December 20, 2011 Report Posted December 20, 2011 Trent Miles - Current HC at Indiana St (eguins suggestion, and I have to admit a fair one at that), his overall record is poor, but you need to read up on how bad the Sycamores were when he got there. Miles is an ISU alum however. Is Trent related to Lesticles? He's a UM alum. Quote
johnnyzip84 Posted December 20, 2011 Report Posted December 20, 2011 Miles is an ISU alum however. And Paul Winters is an Akron alum. I thought about that when I realised how many FCS coaches are also either alums, or native to the area. Ambrose (Towson alum), Miles (ISU alum), Watson Brown (Tenn Tech alum)........ I readily admit that it would have been premature to hire Paul 2 years ago. But who would know that his parents would both pass away during this time? I really think that was a huge factor for him. His dream of leading the Zips with them watching was never going to happen. @ Keener - His wiki doesn't seem to point to them being related. Sheesh the guy even grew up in Terre Haute. They could never really get Larry Bird to leave, so it could be an uphill battle with Trent. Quote

zipseuph Posted December 20, 2011 Report Posted December 20, 2011 I wonder 2 things. 1) Does TW read these boards 2) How much of a laugh does he get from them. How close do you guys think we are to actually knowing whats going on and how much of it is crap being pulled out of thin air? Quote

icchamp1 Posted December 21, 2011 Report Posted December 21, 2011 It looks like we may have offered Loeffler, as footballscoop just posted another update in the last few minutes. Akron: Multiple sources tell us that Akron has offered the job to Temple offensive coordinator Scot Loeffler. Quote

More re: Loeffler to Akron...per sources, he is also considering taking a job with Philadelphia waste management. He believes he would have to deal with less $#!% there than at Akron. Quote

Looking at NFL position coach options. Told he'll decide soon. Would there be any NFL position he is likely to be offered in the next several days? Wouldn't an NFL coordinator or position job either be offered by a brand new coach building a staff, or at the end of the season when teams make changes to existing staffs? Neither of those two scenarios would seem likely to unfold very soon. I hope Loeffler is just using that excuse to buy a bit of time to consider the UA offer and then respond within a day or two. I wonder what the response term of the offer is? Quote

Unless there's organizations like the Kansas City Chiefs who know that they're going to promote Romeo Crennel to head coach, and Crennel is starting to put his staff together... Quote
