zippy5
According to live-rpi (2/26): Akron 59 OU 74 Buffalo 91 Can't State 106 The MAC stayed at 17th out of 32.
skip-zip
CBS has it at 67,77,93 and 106 The amazing thing to me is that our SOS has risen as well. Sad that we have to play the MAC West over the next few weeks.

cduke
Yeah, I know I wish the MAC West Schools would allocate more of their resources to basketball. The MAC at one time regularly won games in the NCAA Tournament. I hope the confrence can get back to that.

zippy5
I'll update this tonight. Would you guys like a thread like this updated after each game? If so I can keep on it, and maybe the mods could sticky it if enough people wanted it.
zippy5
Updated as of last night's games. Can't believe the MAC is still 16th with pretty much 4 top 100 teams. The West is brutal.

RowdyZip
I crunched some Rpi numbers earlier this week, if the MAC East were its own conference, it'd be ranked 12th, between 11th PAC-12 and C-USA. The west would be around 25th near the Southland. I'm sure this has shifted more with the East going 5-1 in the first round.
zippy5
Updated as of this minute. Interesting that our OOC RPI is 95. That means our RPI in conference has to be around 40 or better. Buffalo dropped I think 7 spots afetr beating NIU, which stinks that we still have to play them. That's the reason why the OOC schedule is so important. It's the only part of the scheduling we can control right now to raise our national profile. zipdiehard
Didn't want to start a new thread, but thought this was interesting. I was watching Middle Tennessee play and they were discussing their chances of an at large bid. They threw up a graphic regarding their quality wins. It didn't include Akron, but did include two teams with RPI's 40 and 50 points below us (Loyola of Marymount and UCLA). I know ESPN isn't the selection committee, but it goes along with what I have always said about RPI is only used to get mid level "BCS" schools in and keeping mid majors out. I think you're thinking of the Bracketbuster selection show, because I heard that there. Unless it happened twice, which is even better. zippy5
Updated as of last night's games. Added Oral Roberts since it is of interest now. edit: apparently the site doesn't update on Sundays so these are yesterday's rankings. Dave in Green
Live RPI is apparently automated, and updates automatically as each game concludes. The automation doesn't take Sundays off.

Awesome. I thought rpiforecast "forecasted" RPI and didn't have a live feature liek this.
zipboy
Awesome. I thought rpiforecast "forecasted" RPI and didn't have a live feature liek this. Thanks Dave. Win out and they project us with a 27 rpi. That should get strong cosideration for an at large.

wadszip
Valparaiso is beating Cleveland State 29-17 at the half in Cleveland. A Valpo win puts them in the top 100 (currently 102). That would give the Zips zero losses to teams ranked outside the RPI top 100 this year. EDIT: Make it 38-19 Valpo early in the second. Man, do I wish we could get another crack at Valpo after that homer job they gave the Zips in Indiana.

wadszip
And Duquesne and CSU and VCU and WVU....sigh. Well yeah, those games, too. But the Valpo one still makes me sick. I hate to complain to about reffing, but that was the worst homer job I've ever seen. I think Zeke just got called for another foul as I type this. My wife and I made the trip to Valpo for those two games and that loss just ruined the trip. I've NEVER been so disgusted with officiating. RowdyZip
CSU loses at home to Valpo. Valpo should jump into the top 100 RPI. Bracketbuster foe Oral Roberts down 4 at the half at home vs. #248 IUPUI.
