I don't remember Nippy's Nook. I do remember Demareno's that was right across the street from the Info on Exchange.

I was an RA in Bulger Hall and I will tell you the view from the Penthouse was amazing. I usually could see my drunk students walking to parties in Brown resident hall (that was where the athletes were housed).... how times have changed.

Nippy's Nook was a "fraternity" started by a bunch of GIs returning from WWII. They were a bit older than the typical student and not inclined to follow the university rules for fraternities. They had some wild times. My dad was a charter member.
