skip-zip Posted January 9, 2015 Report Posted January 9, 2015 This speaks volumes about the current state of college athletics. Quote
footballzip Posted January 9, 2015 Report Posted January 9, 2015 I would love to see YSU in the MAC and renew our rivalry with them. Quote

Valpo Zip Posted January 10, 2015 Report Posted January 10, 2015 I would love to see YSU in the MAC and renew our rivalry with them. Are you pushed by the Horizon league to lobby for this? I know they would love to get rid of them. Quote
LZIp Posted January 10, 2015 Report Posted January 10, 2015 I would like Youngstown St too. Not sure why Akron fans seem to be so against it. My guess is afraid. Quote
Balsy Posted January 10, 2015 Report Posted January 10, 2015 The only problem with having YSU in the MAC is it would (again) make uneven numbers. I like a balanced number of teams in East vs. West. And YSU is IMO, an upgrade over UMass being in the MAC. Quote
Dr Z Posted January 10, 2015 Author Report Posted January 10, 2015 James & Boz's character rightfully questioned. Perspective: Pete Rose.I would bet if the correct non call was made in the Miami game, James isn't even on a consideration list. Quote
LZIp Posted January 10, 2015 Report Posted January 10, 2015 You guys realize it doesn't take all the much to get into the CFB HOF right? I mean John Cooper is in it. Nor is it based on FBS success only. Tressel's pops, Lee Tressel is also in the CFB HOF, and he only ever coached at Baldwin Wallace. But I get it, some people have an irrational dislike for the guy and nothing is going to change that. Quote

How about college sports fans, and more importantly Akron fans, who are tired of the cheating and corruption, tired of competing against it, and who simply point out his long, well-documented history? Dr Z Posted January 10, 2015 Author Report Posted January 10, 2015 You guys realize it doesn't take all the much to get into the CFB HOF right? I mean John Cooper is in it.I didn't realize that. Your right then, Cooper = James (minus an awful call by one ref and being kicked out of coaching). Quote

How about college sports fans, and more importantly Akron fans, who are tired of the cheating and corruption, tired of competing against it, and who simply point out his long, well-documented history? That's fine and all. But maybe let's not be so hypocritical when our own CFB coach doesn't have so much of a squeaky clean record either when it comes to ethics?Off the record interview with Paul Davis April 24, 2001 that is all over the internetInterview with Terry Bowden April 24, 2001, at his Loachapoka ranch. Dr Z Posted January 10, 2015 Author Report Posted January 10, 2015 Off the record interview with Paul Davis April 24, 2001 that is all over the internetThen source it, and link it. Quote
LZIp Posted January 10, 2015 Report Posted January 10, 2015 The original post was sourced. The Darkside of college football by Paul Davis April 24, 2001. Look it up, skip and let me know what you think. Our coach has been involved in cover ups much more substantial than players exchanging earned memorabilia for tattoos.Unlike some others, I don't hold people's mistakes against them for eternity. Dr Z Posted January 10, 2015 Author Report Posted January 10, 2015 Look it upIf it were on topic, I might. I might even click on a link if you provided it. Maybe you should start a new post about it. Should go over well on a ZN board. Maybe take it over to the Ken+ board, you'll get more reaction there...but probably not. 1 Quote
K92 Posted January 10, 2015 Report Posted January 10, 2015 Ohio State pissing contests are a blight upon this board and will kill it someday. Quote

Should go over well on a ZN board. Maybe take it over to the Ken+ board, you'll get more reaction there...but probably not.The point is to educate ZN.o posters on the history of our coaches so that maybe they will not be so hypocritical (related to Tressel, the topic), even if it gets in the way of our biases. Not to throw current or former UA coaches underneath the bus. I'm sorry I don't live in a fairy tale world and pretend everybody is perfect. I can recognize when somebody messes up, forgive them for their faults, and move on from it. Quote
Dr Z Posted January 10, 2015 Author Report Posted January 10, 2015 The point is to educate ZN.o posters on the history of our coachesNo problem, as long as you do it in an appropriate thread. I would suggest on that has Bowden's name in the topic. I can recognize when somebody messes up, forgive them for their faults, and move on from it.Please provide a link where James admits his mistake and asks for forgiveness. Quote
Dave in Green Posted January 10, 2015 Report Posted January 10, 2015 We covered the Bowden-at-Auburn issue pretty well in this thread. Quote
LZIp Posted January 10, 2015 Report Posted January 10, 2015 Please provide a link where James admits his mistake and asks for forgiveness. He has recognized his mistakes many times. However, since we are at the point in the discussion where my posts are being edited and even deleted because they don't meet the status quo, you can research it if you care enough and do not believe me.
