zestycoyote Posted February 27, 2012 Report Posted February 27, 2012 Holy crap. I was mad initially because ESPN stayed on the FSU-Miami game that was already over instead of going to UA-OU. Then I started watching us pretend to play basketball. Everything has been bad so far. The refs have been bad, but we're even worse. I've lost count how many open 3 shots we've given them. I wonder if they're going to keep hitting them?! Ohio can play defense. We just stand around waiting for them to make it. Quote

No...he was yelling at the refs because they let Cooper shoot free throws...though he was not fouled while shooting..the foul was on the floor and Dambrot was mad because they should not have been at the free throw line! Despite only having one MAC loss, the Zips have coasted through most of their games. Often this means they have to go really hard the second half to win it. Hopefully, this kick in the teeth serves as a wake up call to the guys and they take this lesson into the tourney and win 2 in Cleveland to go dancing. That said, I'm going to knock out some homework in the second half... Quote

We're going to eat you alive and spit out the bones, and you can't do anything to stop us. Definitely looks that way right now. Somewhat surprised, but Ohio is playing some solid defense as well. Akron seems to be playing very rushed and one-on-one ball instead of running their sets. Undisciplined ball like that will kill you against the the kind of pressure that Ohio is displaying on defense. I'm sure KD will be tearing them a new one in the locker room. Hopefully the guys will listen and play smarter but spotting the opposition 19 points at half-time isn't going to help them stay patient. Not a good showing for Akron tonight so far. Quote
