Dr Z
i just don't understand why some posters have to complain all the time about the coaches, and players. kd can't draw up plays, does not act like he wants to win, zeke needs to put in more effort, the team cant win big games. it's a basketball game that's all.it's supposed to be for entertainment, but a lott of fans make it a complain fest.i was happy with our team this year ;since it was fun to watch the team play.Easy answer. Fan is short for fanatic. n. A person marked or motivated by an extreme, unreasoning enthusiasm, as for a cause. Does that help? You should visit other fan sites for some comparison. taxpayer
Please contact the athletic department/A.D.'s office and request they revise the current seating arrangements. We need a true "home court" advantage with the schedule on tap for next year. A serious effort to get the students down on the floor in larger numbers is a necessity. The band does a good job and their location could only be improved if we move them to the corner closest to the visitor's bench. I've put forth the idea of getting the radio/TV people up to a track location and free up some prime real estate. As we all know, the JAR has horrendous seating issues. Short of major renovations, the cheapest way to increase student participation is chairs on the floor or some risers with seating. There is wasted space in each corner down on the floor....the AD needs to get some design input and get this accomplished; 7.5 months until the 2012-2013 season gets underway! I believe a new facility is at least 5 - 7 years away and if KD is going to continue to raise the level of the program this is an inexpensive, quick way to assist. I attended the OU game in Athens; I now understand why the Zips struggle there. OU's band directly across from the bench blowing their 60 - 70 horns all night long, students seated courtside on 3 sides (yes media "upstairs" there) and an unbelievable lights out pregame intro! Zips administration can and need to do better! Go Zips.

taxpayer
The Zips went 15-2 at home this season. I don't think seating arrangemnts are a problem. I respectfully disagree. VCU & Buffalo were the two we lost; a more difficult enviroment for the visiting teams would have aided our cause. The JAR isn't a difficult place to play from an atmosphere point of view. The Zips themselves present the opposition a problem but the fans and the game atmosphere don't. I believe the administration can make some inexpensive changes i.e. seating but it will require improved student interest and continued improvement on the court as well. RACER
the zips will get the chance right away to have any chance at an at large bid next year.playing on a neutral court against some very good team will test us right away.we have the chance put ourselves in a at large position if we can knock off some big name teams.if we lose most of our games in the overseas tourney then we have to win the mac tourney game.i like the idea of playing on a neutral court.our fate will be decided in one week for an at large bid.
