zipper Posted March 1, 2006 Report Posted March 1, 2006 Rasor's blog has what I hope is a bad rumor on it. If true, it would be a big loss for us. The only silver lining is that Mac probably knows a few qualified people he could get in here. UAM has big shoes to fill, though. Quote
Dr Z Posted March 1, 2006 Report Posted March 1, 2006 Per Rasor:Major news within the athletic departmentMiscellaneousI have heard that a senior administrator may be following Mike Thomas to Cincinnati. I will attempt to confirm this in the morning.------------------------------------------------------------------------If this is true, I wish him well. A GREAT help to the University Quote

Captain Kangaroo Posted March 1, 2006 Report Posted March 1, 2006 Biggest Akron personnel loss since Huggins, if true. No disrespect to Mike Thomas either. More to post after this is officially confirmed... Quote
fear the brown roo Posted March 2, 2006 Report Posted March 2, 2006 Biggest Akron personnel loss since Huggins, if true. No disrespect to Mike Thomas either. i agree. only losing JD or KD would be bigger. Quote

zff Posted March 2, 2006 Report Posted March 2, 2006 Mike Waddell is leaving for the University of Cincinnati. Quote
FearTheRoo Posted March 2, 2006 Report Posted March 2, 2006 I told you guys to stop rippin on him about the side scoreboards! Best of luckMike. Quote
zipper Posted March 2, 2006 Author Report Posted March 2, 2006 Maybe it depends on where you're sitting. I use those new side scoreboards all the time. On the rare occasion I'm in another arena, I'm always looking for them! Quote
zipsbandman Posted March 2, 2006 Report Posted March 2, 2006 UAM did a great job at UA, but this is definitely not the end of the world for zips athletics. My first impression of Rhoades is that he is well liked, has a good relationship with his coaches, and most importantly will deliver the stadium project. I'm sure he has plenty of contacts after being in this business for quite a while, and maybe it is better for him to get his own guy in there. The key to continued success at this University is LP. We lose him, and then we really have issues. As long as the boss is around, we will continue to grow and reload with the right personel to get us to the point where we are not a stepping stone any longer. Quote
GP1 Posted March 2, 2006 Report Posted March 2, 2006 Mike is/was a good employee for the University and is an even better person. He will be missed. See you in Cincinnati my next business trip there Mike. Quote
