Z.I.P. Posted July 6, 2012 Report Posted July 6, 2012 "Get that Big O to Lawsons in 40 hours!" I was shocked to hear just ten or fifteen years ago that Lawsons had closed all their stores in Ohio back in the 80s! Well, I guess this is proof that what goes around, comes around, if you just wait long enough. It's hard to believe -- Ten thousand Lawsons (Stations?!) in Japan!! And they're talking about eventually having over 100 in Hawaii. Anyone want to take bets on when it will return to Akron? More than 40 hours I bet! I worked at their warehouse on Kenmore Blvd. the summer before my freshman year in 1977. Quote
Zipmeister Posted July 7, 2012 Report Posted July 7, 2012 Oh the oranges ripen in the Florida sun. Fresh on the trees they grow. Then we pick them and we squeeze them just as fast as we can and the Big O rolls the same day. Roll on Big O; get that juice up to Lawsons in 40 hours. Oh one man sleeps while the other man drives on the nonstop Lawsons run. And the cold, cold juice in the tank car caboose stays as fresh as the Florida sun. Roll on Big O; get that juice up to Lawsons in 40 hours. Quote
ZZZips Posted July 8, 2012 Report Posted July 8, 2012 The OJ at Lawson's was OK. Their French Onion Chip Dip was (and still is) the best. Quote
Class of 82 Posted July 9, 2012 Report Posted July 9, 2012 The OJ at Lawson's was OK. Their French Onion Chip Dip was (and still is) the best. Their chip-chop ham was pretty good, too. Maybe a notch below Isaly's, but still pretty yummy served hot on a toasted bun with melted Velveeta, uh, ahem... "cheese." Quote
