ZachTheZip Posted July 24, 2012 Report Posted July 24, 2012 MAC Football media day begins today, Tuesday July 24th, at 8:30 AM through Noon. It will be on ESPN3. I don't think coach Bowden ever announced which two players he was taking with him. If the format follows last year, Akron should have the first interview segment so our section will be early in the proceedings. Having Terry Bowden there might be enough to draw some national media interest. Coverage of MAC media day is usually pretty sparse, and it's going to be hugely overshadowed by the Penn State thing this year. Quote
K92 Posted July 24, 2012 Report Posted July 24, 2012 I believe Chisholm & Caponi are the player representatives, if I remember correctly. Quote
johnnyzip84 Posted July 24, 2012 Report Posted July 24, 2012 Media Poll It's no surprise that OU is picked 1st in East, but UT is a bit of a surprise (to me) in the West. The most ridiculous media representative has to be the guy who picked CMU to win it all Quote

johnnyzip84 Posted July 25, 2012 Report Posted July 25, 2012 #7 gives a nice description of the pace of TB's offense and the need to be in top physical shape. Quote
johnnyzip84 Posted July 25, 2012 Report Posted July 25, 2012 Looking forward to seeing Nico on the field after he missed spring ball with an injury. Quote

Captain Kangaroo Posted July 26, 2012 Report Posted July 26, 2012 Nice interview, good job Steve and Jawon. One missed question - "Why did you change from #44 to #7?" Quote
johnnyzip84 Posted July 26, 2012 Report Posted July 26, 2012 One missed question - "Why did you change from #44 to #7?" That had me curious as well. Apparently, Jawon has a history of number changing since he wore both #3 and #11 in high school. In fact, take a look at this web site. It shows current Zip DB Anthony Holmes (#7, interestingly) pitching the ball to Jawon (#3). Quote

My first thought was because #44 was more of a "power back" number, and #7 seems to be a...um, not sure how to describe his new running style in this offense? Scat back? Nah, that's not right, but you know what I mean. Or the single digit makes him look smaller and faster/more conditioned? CK is right, damn you Frenchy, now I'm wondering... Quote
