Hilltopper
I told you guys he was a player to watch. Yesterday they finally threw him the ball and the results were two touchdowns and a first down on third and long.

Hilltopper
Did anyone say he wasnt? Just how exactly did you read that into what I posted? I made a positive post about a player I have been following since he was in the 7th grade.
K92
Pratt looked good, no doubt about it. Quite a few Zips receivers looked good yesterday. WR seems to be the position that has the most depth and quality. It is a thing of beauty to watch how that group substitutes flawlessly during the game. They are becoming a well oiled machine. Ham
Hilltopper, I just watched those catches on the highlights real, and he looked real good. He seems to have good speed and can get some seperation, but if I was QB, I would drool at having a PF for a target down field! Don't let some negative poster dampen your enthusiasm. (I post this just after I take a shot at our "half empty" posters.)
AKSportsFan
I loved the attitude in which he caught those passes. He will make an impact for the 4 years we got him!

Dr Z
Judging from the few times I saw him on the field last Saturday, he needs to work on the speed of his routes.
Hilltopper
Judging from the few times I saw him on the field last Saturday, he needs to work on the speed of his routes. He's a big guy who takes long strides. They threw it to him 4 times. He caught 2 and had 2 incompletion's. One was the play he was pushed out of bounds and the last one DW had to throw sooner than he wanted because of pressure in the pocket. He is a true freshman! I know that a message board is the place to vent frustrations and arm-chair QB, but a little perspective sometimes is a very good thing. Let's not also forget - that players' families (and hopefully not players themselves) read this board. I'm not saying that the comment about Pratt was that awful, but I see so many positives about him - knowing how raw he is - that I couldn't even imagine criticizing anything about his playing at this juncture. PB1719
I couldn't even imagine criticizing anything about his playing at this juncture. I think Pratt is a top notch recruit with tons of upside. However, criticism shouldn't be reserved for those with lots of experience. I hope that he is being criticized in every practice and film session. That actually extends to all our players. Maybe it's just me, but I don't see criticism as completely negative. I just hope he takes it constructively. That being said, he's a huge, strong receiver that needs more targets, he's perfectly fit for jump-ball situations down the field. I don't see many opponents that can keep him from catching the ball at it's highest point.

I think of criticism as a derogatory term, evaluation seems to be a more fitting description of what is going on to me. I'll let you wordsmiths figure it out. I wonder if Michael Jordon was "criticized" his freshman year or did everybody around him just tell him he was great, don't change a thing?
