johnnyzip84
I’ll post any thoughts of this week’s game in THIS thread, since it was the one started by an AKRON fan I agree with CK and skip that there is certainly potential for a big UA passing day at Peden. As CK also states, the O-Line also has to bounce back for this to occur. Perhaps the entire team was feeling some pressure to win last week (after all, some A-hole started a thread on here last week with “must win?” in the subtitle), leading to some of the miscues. I think this is a perfect game for the staff and team to relax and let it all hang out. OU will obviously have a big advantage in running the football if they choose. And it’s not like the Zips can simply try to crowd the box, since Tettleton (full strength or not) can hurt them through the air. But a few, timely safety blitzes (Coach Bowden admitted on this week’s show that Bre’ Ford is playing almost a linebacker role at times) would be welcome. Also, I really hope the staff is working on a few additional surprises, particularly on special teams, to improve our chances of an upset. We need to get as many possessions as possible no matter what it takes to achieve it.

Two very nicely designed and executed plays.

Aidan
I could be wrong but it seems like OU struggles to blow out MAC teams recently. I just can't see a 20-point win - even in front of "25,000" people. My only worry is that maybe BUGS opened some eyes in terms of pressuring Dalton Williams. I don't think he - or his offensive line - have seen that kind of pressure so far this year.

OU Dude
Hey, I'd really appreciate it if you guys would go easy on us this Saturday, we lost on Homecoming last year and it ain't no fun. Saw a funny comment from a Bobcat fan on another board, he was at the OU vs OSU game a couple of years ago when OU took a lead into the 4th quarter. He and his friends we're cheering loudly for the Bobcats when an angry Buckeye fan stood up and yelled at them "Hey, this game is important to US!" lmao. So yeah if you spoiled our perfect season it was suck for us, so don't it please. I'm super impressed with what Bowden has been able to do, I knew he would turn things around but I had no idea it would be this fast. I was losing my mind during the TN game, that was crazy. Just the change in optimism from iCoach to TB is worth its weight in gold. Anyways, good luck to you guys, hope you go on a big winning streak.. after next week! A very good and thoughtful post from an opposing fan. What a refreshing idea !! I did enjoy seeing you guys rattle the Suckeyes a couple of years ago. If you recall, we played them to a 3-2 halftime score a few years ago ourselves. When they do eventually lose to a MAC team, it will be a great joy for all of us. K92
I try to take most things in stride, but last Saturday stung. I haven't been able to put it behind me quite yet. If the offense can put it all together, with some breaks going the Zips way, they could steal this one. I think Zips O vs. Cats D is a very favorable matchup, but I am afraid Ohio will be able to run at will. Losing AP91 was terrible, but NC58's injury creates an irreplaceable void. He is the one guy you could least afford to lose. At any rate, I will be listening to French and rooting them on. Shock 'em Zips!

You were in TN... you see what the future holds for the Zips. Yes - last Saturday stung... BIG TIME. Imagine how the team and the coaches felt?? They will be ready to play - with whatever healthy players we've got - and we will play at 100% effort for 60 minutes - as we have all season. That dadgum article in the ABJ was like the Sports Illustrated curse -- hailing the o-line as the best unit on the field (which they probably still are) A stomach virus had/has been going through the team - and that hurt us also last Saturday. Know this - also - these coaches will (I'm sure already have) game plan around our injuries/weaknesses and we are gonna come out swinging. We've played fantastically on the road all year -- I think this road game ends with a very fun ride back to Akron...
Bubba4three
Chances are, OU will lose a game. Could very well be Akron. Chances are Ohio will not go undefeated. Problem is, we are pretty much favored in every individual game from here out except maybe @Can't...

K92
NZF, I have never jumped ship on the Zips. I AM a Zip. The only person I can blame for the disappointment of last week is myself. I had a full blown case of cart-ahead-of-the-horse syndrome. I really believed the Zips were poised for a breakout win. I sincerely thought the Zips could get up on BG early, force them to play from behind and BLOW THEM OUT. I was an victim of my own irrational exuberance. I will still be one of the first ones to arrive next week. Come on down and join us for breakfast.

akzipper
Have to assume OhioU is going to score on every drive, just digging ourselves a bigger hole. Has Williams completed a pass yet?
bUAkronG
Ugh. Have a good drive going only to throw a pick. Is our offensive line that poor that they are able to get pressure on our QB rushing only 3?
johnnyzip84
Coming up on ZERO points in the last 4 quarters. Are you kidding me? The Offensive Coordinator needs to do something.
