tpsjugglerdude
big question of the night: why are we playing a division 3 school? You get to count 1 non-D1 team on your win totals for the year. Dambrot uses it as a 3rd exhibition game.

amandak1979
I think the biggest question is how hard is it to get the side scoreboards to work? That is so annoying they work then all the sudden they don't! Is it run by volunteers or is UA actually paying someone to work it? Is it by chance the same person payed to file NCAA paperwork??? We have nothing to do with the feed. If you really want to solve your issue, please direct your all caps complaints to the proper channels. I am not the only fan who complains about it. The University asks the alumni for support, but those of us who don't live in North East Ohio have a devil of a time watching the games. They can do better. And I am just venting frustration. And I just made the complaint to the link you posted. Not that it will matter. I recall a few years ago when we paid for the feed and it never worked. At least now it is free and doesn't work.

Dr Z
Not that it will matter. You don't think it will help expressing concern to the AD, but you continue to post, and post, and post, on an unofficial forum like it will? GoZips
You don't think it will help expressing concern to the AD, but you continue to post, and post, and post, on an unofficial forum like it will? Dr. Z, notice how some fans continually call for the Zips to upgrade their home schedule. Then you see Akron "trash" a decent opponent by 19 points on a neutral court. And the bleeters still don't get the fact that that could be their team getting waxed at Akron. And, I agree with you. All the person needs to do is write to the AD using the provided format found on GoZips.com. Mid-majors and high majors have ZERO interest in getting their brains beat out, home or away. Scheduling is darn tough.

I doubt it will help because we have been making the same complaint about the online feeds for years to the AD and to the people who ran the paid feed, and nothing ever changes. But I understand your point.
akronzips71
And here is the response from the AD: xxxxx Thanks for your note and feedback. This is an ongoing issue that is being addressed. We do provide play-by-play audio from our radio broadcast with our basketball video stream. Due to equipment issues we often have a problem with the sync. You can also listen to our radio broadcast free of charge online through iheartradio http://www.iheart.com/live/3455/?autoplay=true Please let me know if you have any questions. -Gregg -- Gregg Bach | Assistant Athletics Director for Communications Department of Athletics | The University of Akron 373 Carroll St., Suite 83 | Akron, Ohio 44325 Office: (330) 972-6106 | Mobile: (330) 760-0522 | Fax: (330) 374-8844 Website: GoZips.com | Twitter: @ZipsGregg From: "scosgt@aol.com" <scosgt@aol.com> Date: November 20, 2012, 12:18:56 PM EST To: "Wistrcill,Thomas" <tw41@uakron.edu> Subject: Re: Ask the AD The basketball game feeds have NO audio. RowdyZip
Just a thought. You might want to come off a little less like a prick. tpsjugglerdude
Did you try turning the audio on? Sometimes when the videos load you have to click the audio button on the video to un-mute it.

That's a completely unprofessional email and I wouldn't have blamed them had they completely ignored you. And then I can completely ignore them when they ask me for money. I am not a politically correct person. And this is nothing new. Up until last year, we had to pay for the feed, and it either didn't work at all or when it did there was no audio. It is incredible that such a large University can not get this right over the course of years. SOMEONE has to speak out about it, and at the suggestion of Dr. Z I did exactly that. And now you call me a prick. Why don't you divert some of that energy into fixing the problem? And BTW, TW said he was "not aware of the problem". Are you kidding me? Sometimes when the videos load you have to click the audio button on the video to un-mute it. Of course. Sometimes you can hear background noise, like there is an open mike. You can even hear the arena announcer. But there is no play by play feed. Or it is totally out of sync. It is very hard to follow the game when there is no way to figure out what is going on. Hey, easy there, I didn't call you a prick, I said you come off as one in that little snippet. I guess the point is moot because you did get a response, but if someone emails me at work with that tone, they're lucky if they get a response, or if they do it's at the bottom of the stack. You're absolutely right about him being unaware of problems, there's no excuse for that. This is something the MAC itself should focus on as well. Do you have twitter account? I know there's some MAC reps that are very receptive to complaints on twitter and will bring it up with the school administration. You could try that route as well. Keep in mind that I am not a "customer" of UA, I am someone they solicit for donations. So if they choose to ignore me, I can do the same. I don't do twitter, but note that Greg said they were "aware" of the problem. Awareness is good, fixing it is better. Many of us are all over these boards hoping to not only build a Top 25 BB Program, but to escape from the MAC. We really need to get our act together. When 100,000 people show up at State College for a football game, they are NOT all active students, you can believe that. Meanwhile, we have this nice new stadium that is not even half full for games. The University needs to do a better job if we are going to get onto the map.
