Anybody else get somewhat emotional on Senior nights?? I have always fought it back but I admit it, I do. These guys almost feel like family to us after watching them grow into great young men while at UA. In Chauncy, Brian and Zeke we have 3 guys here who truly exemplify the meaning of being great people, great students as well as being great players. I'm really going to miss these three. This one is going to be really tough........ :(

Absolutely. Having to say goodbye to old friends at the end of every season is one of the features that makes high school and college athletics so special. It's always bittersweet.

And I agree that this is a special group of seniors. It should be a very emotional night.

Yes, I get a little lump in my throat when they honor the Seniors. I hope these 3 get the loudest cheer of the season tomorrow night.

I'm just wondering which one of the 3 will channel the Jawanza Moore EffectTM on Friday and go for their career high in their last appearance at the JAR.

My money's on Chauncey.

B) B) B) B) B)

That's a poll worthy question! I'll go with Zeke. He seems ramp it up for hippies.

Add me to the list of those who get choked up on senior night. Coach Dambrot has recruited some really special players over the years, and they get to be like old friends. And it's not just the players, but their families, as well. When I think back to seeing (and hearing) the McKnight family at every game, I get all nostalgic. And GameChngr44 has been such a great member of this forum for the past four years, I'll miss her when she moves on to an NBA forum next season. Tomorrow night is going to be tough.

Good luck to the seniors on senior night. I hope Chauncy gets to start. He had given so much to this team. It is a shame he had an injury this year. Through the years he has always been great on the open floor, especially on the break. He had some great moves to the basket. He had his best game at Can't and brought the team back. I hope we can see more of that.

Walsh, a gurard that can jump and rebound. That was something new in the Akron arsenal. He really seemed to know where the ball was going off the boards. A guard not afraid to attack the boards with the bigs guys. A very good shooter. We are going to miss him.

Zeke is one of the players that has made the most improvement over the years at Akron. It seems like yesterday that people on this board were excited that he was coming to the school and his mother joined this board. My favorite play of the year was watching Zeke dribble from half court and dunk the ball. Well worth a terrible T. We will never see a shot blocker with his talent at this school.

I hope each of the seniors enjoys their night.

Any three of the seniors would have a tough time eclipsing their career highs, Chauncey had 20 or 22 in Puerto Rico earlier this year, I think Zeke's is around 23 and Brian's has to be at least in the high teens, so I'd be satisifed with each of them having great final games. George Thomas just published an article on the three seniors. And while I appreciate all that Brian and Chauncey have done and will always consider nothing but full fledged Zips, I have a soft spot for Zeke. Four years and spurned bigger offers to come to Akron. Been nothing but a delight watching him play and he never gave one ounce of trouble to anyone (who wasn't on the court). Hell of a career and I want to see him go out with a big bang, Player of the Year and a nice farewell tour in the NCAA tournament. I was thinking about starting a thank you Zeke Marshall thread but I think that ought to wait until his career is done. I am really going to miss watching him play, but I bet that sentiment is not echoed too many other places in the MAC. :)

I might lose my voice before the tipoff I'll be cheering so loudly for the seniors tomorrow night (I apologize up front to the people in front of me.....they don't like my cheering very much). I hope they all enjoy the moment with their family, friends and all of Zipsnation. Go Zips!!!

Walsh is the ultimate team player. He couldn't care less if he gets 17 or 7 pts. All he cares about is helping his team win. His weak side rebounding has led us to many a win and has been a very overlooked feature in which he excels. And Zeke... What can you say, I just love this guy. We've seen him choke back emotion at various times and situations. I know it will be so heart warming when he, Mama Zeke and Keith embrace. I'll be surprised if the big guy doesn't shed a tear. I wish I could give him a hug too. He's such a special kid, I'll miss him.
