johnnyzip84 Posted May 21, 2013 Report Posted May 21, 2013 It stands at 26 games and gets a mention in this ESPN list. It's hard to believe it was back in 2008 against EMU in Ypsi when our punter/holder, reacting to a blocked FG, picked up the rock and gained a 1st down. Otherwise, the streak would be longer. Harder yet to believe, the Zips won a FEW road games that year, including one in the Carrier Dome (as a few of us witnessed). Quote
MDZip Posted May 21, 2013 Report Posted May 21, 2013 Fortunately our favorite rivals also made that list for a similarly dubious achievement. 36. (Years since Can't State had consecutive winning seasons): The Golden Flashes went 11-3 last season and won the MAC East Division title. They'll try to have consecutive winning seasons for the first time since 1976-77. Quote

I believe it was Hustle Belt that had them with the 2nd most difficult schedule among MAC teams (behind none other than our Zips), so perhaps there's some hope that they'll revert to their usual selves. Getting back to where the road losing streak might end, I wouldn't count out this place: Quote

K92 Posted May 22, 2013 Report Posted May 22, 2013 Get it done early Zips. Win here. Then we can all head over to Fricker's for the victory party. Quote
Dr Z Posted May 22, 2013 Report Posted May 22, 2013 Maybe coach Bowden should invite Nick Gilbert to be his special guest at the UCF game? Quote

Oh, I'm not ready to concede any road games (except Ann Arbor) at this point. I'm still hoping for UMass to be one of SEVERAL road wins. But if things don't go as planned, hopefully the Zips will still manage to win this one. Quote
RowdyZip Posted May 23, 2013 Report Posted May 23, 2013 For a little perspective on this time frame, that was my 28th birthday and my girlfriend bought us tickets and a nice hotel room. We're now married more than 3 years and expecting our first little Zippy. Incredible. We also were at the Carrier Dome for the sweatbox win. Quote

Secondly, I had forgotten about how hot it was indoors in Syracuse that year. The Carrier Dome being so uncomfortable was pretty ironic. Andy Hildreth? Quote
