We needed to score and now we are going to fall behind 2 possessions... Whoever is calling the plays cost us the game. All the positive buzz around the Zips has been flushed down the toilet. Very embarrassing loss... Quote

Lousiana may well win the Sun Belt which isn't that much different than winning the MAC. There are definitely three more victories on the schedule, I can feel it. The Zips are going to run over somebody in the MAC in one of the remaining weeks. Quote

LZIp Posted September 22, 2013 Report Posted September 22, 2013 Thoughts on the game: defense: Pretty satisfied with the run defense. Pass defense took a step back tonight compared to last week, IMO. Pass rush was also somewhat of a disappointment. Dont believe we sacked Broadway all night. Tackling was pretty good as well. offense: Hundley continues to make a case to get more carries. I'd hope that we have a WR rotation figured out by now. I'm not making a case for or against anybody, just noticed that Williams was on the field a lot tonight, and I dont think he played at all last week. Lets pick a rotation and stick with it. LOVE Bickley, though. Thought Pohl could have played better. If you get pressure on him, chances are he isnt going to make a play. team: We had a lot of opportunities to cause turnovers, but the ball didnt bounce our way, unfortunately. The onside was killer. Attempting field goals at the end of the game was ABSOLUTELY the right call. Stein just couldnt hit them for whatever reason. ULL is a pretty damn good mid-major. They have nice size. We fought back after being down early again. This team doesn't give up, and I love that. Bummed we didnt get the win, but still looking forward to conference play. I think we can win. Go Zips!! Quote
