Dr Z Posted September 28, 2013 Report Posted September 28, 2013 Great play calling. Night and day. Stretching BG D early...love it! Quote
Dr Z Posted September 28, 2013 Report Posted September 28, 2013 Hats off to coach Amato, changing up pressure on obvious passing downs. We are controlling the line in that situation! Quote
PB1719 Posted September 28, 2013 Report Posted September 28, 2013 Outside of two big runs, we've owned the trenches. Quote
ZachTheZip Posted September 28, 2013 Report Posted September 28, 2013 Zips front seven is having a field day. Offense needs to start scoring again. Get some insurance points. Quote
akzipper Posted September 28, 2013 Report Posted September 28, 2013 Our offense needs to start clicking again. The defense isn't going to keep BG off the scoreboard much longer. Quote
ZachTheZip Posted September 28, 2013 Report Posted September 28, 2013 2-minute drill here. Get points, and then get the ball back after half. Come on Zips. Quote
akzipper Posted September 28, 2013 Report Posted September 28, 2013 Akron scored 14 points and now seems content on coasting to the end of the game. I don't understand why with just under 2 minutes left you don't try to put points on the board. Quote
lance99 Posted September 28, 2013 Author Report Posted September 28, 2013 Pohl gets hurt. Not good Quote
LZIp Posted September 28, 2013 Report Posted September 28, 2013 I think Pohl will be fine. Well he better be. Not a fan of the Shurmur-like playcalling to end the half. Quote
Buckzip Posted September 28, 2013 Report Posted September 28, 2013 How long is Hirschman supposed to be out for? Quote
akzipper Posted September 28, 2013 Report Posted September 28, 2013 Zips are awful on both sides of the ball right now. Quote
zestycoyote Posted September 28, 2013 Report Posted September 28, 2013 Zips are awful on both sides of the ball right now. Agreed. Too many bubble screens (that never get more than 5 yards) on offense and still no QB spy on defense. BGSU's QB isn't killing us with his legs, but he has all day when he rolls out. Edit: Also, their RB is breaking tackles on every run. He's only 180 lb. C'mon. Quote

BGSU's QB isn't killing us with his legs, but he has all day when he rolls out. It's like Akron's goal was to show up, score 14 points and then sit back and watch. Games aren't won in the first quarter. 1-4 Quote
Buckzip Posted September 28, 2013 Report Posted September 28, 2013 This is on the coaches right not. Get a lead by being aggressive and then go into a shell. Having over a minute before half time and trying to run out the clock was pathetic. Now, the defense is on the field too much and the offense just goes 3 and out. Even if we keep it close, by the 4th quarter the defense will be gassed. Why in the hell do we keep trying that stupid screen that never works.....? Quote
Buckzip Posted September 28, 2013 Report Posted September 28, 2013 Where is Hundley? They don't want to use him. He goes north and south. They want someone that goes east and west. Quote
akzipper Posted September 28, 2013 Report Posted September 28, 2013 Give the ball back to BG with excellent field position. 24-14 Quote
zestycoyote Posted September 28, 2013 Report Posted September 28, 2013 Also, if we're going to punt on 4th and 3, we should push BGSU back more than 20 yards. Akron is playing to lose this game right now. Quote
Balsy Posted September 28, 2013 Report Posted September 28, 2013 Only as a Zips fan do you see EVERY POSSIBLE WAY to lose a game. Quote
akzipper Posted September 28, 2013 Report Posted September 28, 2013 Why did the Zips even bother coming out of the locker room for the second half? Quote
zestycoyote Posted September 28, 2013 Report Posted September 28, 2013 Hey, look what happens when you give Hundley the ball on 3rd and 2. Your get the first down and a few more! Quote
