Well everyone all doubt is gone who will be the starter for the Cleveland Browns. The San Francisco 49ers acquired a proven backup quarterback for Alex Smith, getting Trent Dilfer from the Cleveland Browns on Thursday in a trade for quarterback Ken Dorsey and, according to ESPN.com's John Clayton, a seventh-round pick in the 2007 draft.I am not worried about Frye losing his job to Dorsey because most Florida QB fizzle out in the NFLHere is a link to the story.Browns trade Dilfer to Niners for Dorsey, draft pick

Yea, i'd say that't the vote of confidence we'va all been looking for. Dorsey is not a factor, he's just a body. He fizzled in Tempe.

Congratulations on another 6-10 season Browns fans. Between bad talent, poor off season acquistiions and injuries you all really have something great to look forward to. Oh well, I guess Arizona fans need someone to watch the playoffs with.

Just some guy who works for me and lives out of state. I swear to God, some days I could choke the guy to death with a chain made up of dead kittens tails tied together.... :mad_flame::wall:

In order to make a comment like that you have to be a squeeler fan. Probably the kind that lives in northeast ohio and has no ties to the confluence. I don't know how you can say that their offseason acquisitions were poor. Those were some of the best I have ever seen and certainly the best since 1999. As far as injuries - With the exception of the stupid K2 thing last year, injuries are just a matter of bad luck. Don't worry squeeler fan, things will turn around in Cleveland and you'll find yourself torn between rooting for Frye and that team that you have zero geographical ties to.

That's an awful lot of assumptions about a guy for one post.

A little harsh, but I understand where he is coming from. The jury is still out on Fyre even if that pisses off you UA fans here. I'm sorry, the guy has a lot to prove to me before I jump on his bandwagon. Plus, we need a veteran backup in Cleveland to not only tutor Fyre but to be there in case he gets hurt. Dorsey just won't cut it.

I figured I would stir up the pot with those comments. Sorry GP1. I guesss your one of the very few Steeler fans who lives in Northeast Ohio and actually is from Pittsburgh. The rest are all just front runners.I don't think anyone on this site questions whether or not Charlie Frye has NFL ability. All of the reports from Browns headquarters in Berea indicate that he has been an absolute workaholic since the close of the 2005 season. An article in today's Reakin quotes Phil Savage as saying Charlie comes to the building everyday and is here from sun up to sun down. If Mr. Frye develops into one of the top quarterbacks in the league, he is going to cause a lot of grief for the rest of the AFC north. It will be interesting to see how the Zip/ Steeler fans handle that. Will they become Frye haters?

Anybody feel like the Cleveland Savages moved out Dilfer to make room for someone else at any cost? Dilfer for Dorsey may be the worst trade since they traded up one for the soldier."I told Ken if somebody breaks free that we think is going to make us better, we'll bring him in," Savage said.source: todays PDI can't help feeling sorry for Charlie.

It's Sink or Swim time for Charlie. I'm a huge 5/9 fan, but honestly, if he doesn't get it done this year,I think he's out. He only showed glimpses of NFL ability last season. Lots of people gave him the benefit of the doubt because it was his Rookie year, but those excuses are gone now. If he doesn't make it, it's not because he didn't throw everything he had at it, it's because he just doesn't have what it takes. I wish him the best of luck and hope he has a stellar year.

Centers don't win games.

Best point on this topic. You're right! The Browns have a huge amount of cap space and could afford to bring someone in. The question is who? Trades don't happen that often in the NFL and there isn't really anyone out there worth bringing in as a free agent. If I was a GM looking to make a trade with the Browns at the QB position, I would have to have a solid starter waiting and I would demand Frye in the trade. Who is that team? I don't see one. In all fairness, I think Frye would make a great backup QB. I just have no confidence in his ability to win games for long stretches.Don't feel sorry for Frye, he will make a lot of money for a long time in the NFL if he gets with the right team. It's just a job like all of us have except they make a lot more money than most. If they brought someone in to start in Cleveland in front of him, Cleveland could be his team for a long time as a backup. I'd love for him to back up Big Ben in Pittsburgh. He is better than anyone they have backing up Ben now.

so a center has no bearing whatsover on the offensive line and team? didn't every steeler super bowl team have an pro bowl caliber center? mansfield wasn't bad;webster and dawson....hall of famers, hartings; pro bowl caliber. i hate the steelers and their douchebag fans in norhteast ohio, but i also recognize talent. our o-line just improved big time.

"Charlie's my guy. Charlie's always been my guy right from the start," Brown said while watching Saturday morning's practice in the team's three-day rookie minicamp. "He's a warrior. He'll do fine." Jim BrownWho knows, but thinks are sounding really good out there in Berea. They are continuously talking about how hard Charlie has worked and how hard he has studied since the end of last season. Obviously, they think he can handle it. I just think it's gonna be fun to watch.

Maybe the Browns do have a mentor for their young quarterbacks. His name is Bernie Kosar, and he's reportedly been spending more time with the team lately. He and Ken Dorsey are friends, sharing a University of Miami connection. Last year, Kosar took Frye under his wing.sourceSo how will Kosar's mental state effect this relationship? This is strange!?!?Former NFL star and multimillionaire businessman Bernie Kosar and wife Babette are in divorce court. She filed -- in Broward. The Weston couple, both 42 and married for 16 years, have four children, ages 6, 8, 13 and 14.''I love my wife and kids,'' Kosar says. ``I don't want to be divorced. I don't believe in it.''Babette accuses Bernie of ''increasingly bizarre and erratic behavior and various other addictions,'' according to court docs. He has been ''giving away money and interest in other significant marital assets including real property to family and friends.'' He acts ''financially irrationally and irresponsibly'' -- and even plans to buy a house four doors from where they now live, she says.Kosar needs ''help'' . . . and should ''focus his energies on his mental health and not on the purchase of the [other] home,'' she says. Besides, ``it will be almost impossible . . . to develop independent lives . . . in such close proximity . . .''No one will comment on the ''addictions'' she refers to. Some case documents are sealed -- at Kosar's request. That's because she ''makes very detailed, personal allegations'' about his ''character and mental well-being,'' he says in court papers.

Frye's "mentor" asked to undergo a psychiatric examBernie Kosar's wife asked a judge to order one of Cleveland's favorite former quarterbacks to undergo a psychiatric exam. She also asked the judge to have Kosar tested for drugs amid an ugly divorce unfolding in a Florida court.Whether Kosar had to do either is unclear, but he told the Miami Herald that he still loves his wife, Babette, and hopes their marriage can be saved even now, seven months after she filed for divorce.

My heart and my gut tell me she's the one who may need the exam.Good on you Bernie.............keep your mouth shut and deal with the situation the best you can.nm

Is Bernie coming back to help Frye? Is it Vinny? Maybe Sipe.Kosar Responds To Wife's Allegations Of Bizarre BehaviorUPDATED: 9:13 am EDT June 21, 2006CLEVELAND -- Bernie Kosar's wife filed for divorce last month, claiming the former Browns quarterback suffers from several addictions and also bizarre behavior."I'm different, I'll admit that. It doesn't mean I'm drunk or on drugs. I passed those (tests). I don't know," Kosar said.He said he's been drug tested several times and the results were always negative.During his interview, Kosar said he hopes he can work with the Browns during the upcoming season, but only if his family situation allows it.source

You don't even have to be a millionaire to have a woman's lawyer talk her into shit like this. I've seen guys sho nice they could be sainted portrayed as an incarnation of satan himself in divorce proceedings.
