Game #6 Ohio

Confidence and momentum. They were riding pretty high when they played us as they were on a three game winning streak. They were on a two game losing streak going into last light. Not only had they lost two in a row, they lost them in a bad way.

OU Schedule with results YTD

When a MAC team goes south, they can land pretty hard.

Any team in any conference can go South for a myriad of reasons: Northwestern, Temple, UConn, NC State, Florida, Purdue, TCU, West Virginia, Virginia, California to name a few.

Some of the other reasons: coaching (including game plan), schedule, injuries, suspensions, penalties etc...

That last play against Michigan would be great for a "do-over", but if I could pick one game it would be OU. I really don't think that final score is anywhere indicative of the talent level of the two teams.

IMO, that game was a fluke. I'm not saying we're definitely better, but things went downhill, then stayed downhill. I wish I had a stronger word than downhill, it was just crazy. I'd love to see some payback next season.

My other thought on the game last night, those OU unis are pretty sharp. Great for a national TV game. I'd say one of the better alternates in all of CFB, though I hate to admit it.

Dri had his most carries of the season. He is what some like to call a "game changer." 3 TD's on 15 carries for 138 yards. He has been injured (ankle) all year. When we played him, he mostly played in the slot. I'm only guessing, since I can't look this up, but I bet he was only in for half the offensive snaps against Akron.

Dri is a FREAK...according to Bruce Feldman

Could Ohio be demoralized enough to drop one to UMass? And if NIU wins tonight perhaps Toledo decides they don't care about the Black Friday game? That would lead to a lone third place finish in the MAC East, anybody see that possibility before the season? As a matter of fact if either of those situations occurs the Zips would be tied for third and very worst case are tied for fourth. After three straight years of living in the basement I see that as a big improvement.

Agreed, but when they start to go south for a MAC school, they really go south. It's hard to reverse the downward course once one starts down that road.

Isn't it nice to see the MAC East standings posted on TV and not have the easy task of looking straight to the bottom to see the Zips logo? I was so sick of that....
